Women's Cross Country Ranked No. 2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's cross country team stayed at No. 2 in the FinishLynx National Poll that was released on Monday, October 11. The Friars (378 points, one first-place vote) have been ranked second for five consecutive weeks.

Stanford held on to the No. 1 position as it garnered 389 points and 12 first-place votes. Michigan (362 points), Colorado (341 points) and Duke (331 points) round out the top five.

Providence has won its first three meets of the 2004 season, including the Roy Griak Invitational on September 25 at Falcon Heights, Minn. The Friars will return to action on Saturday, October 16 at the Penn State Invitational, where they will seek their third consecutive title at University Park, Pa.
