FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. -- The 27th-ranked Providence College men's cross country team (258 points) placed 10th out of 27 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday, September 24 in Falcon Heights, Minn. Brigham Young captured the title with 117 points.
Senior Martin Fagan (Mullingar, Ireland) paced the way for the Friars as he placed seventh in a time of 24:25. Sophomore Ahmed Haji (West Hartford, Conn.) also had a strong performance, finishing 14th in a time of 24:42, while senior Joe Dionne (Oshawa, Ontario) recorded a 44th-place finish in a time of 25:13. Junior Nick Weidman of Sudbury, Mass. (71st - 25:34) and graduate student Liam Reale of Hospital, Ireland (122nd - 26:21) also scored for the Friars.
The Friars return to action on Friday, October 15 at the Penn State Invitational.
