Providence fell in the first set, 25-19. Sophomores Kayla Johnson (Silver Spring, Md.) and Kayla Fitzgerald (Redlands, Calif.) each tallied a set-high three kills for the Friars. Sophomore Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) recorded six digs.
Villanova won the second (25-15) and third (25-14) sets to win the match, 3-0.
For the match, junior Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) led Providence in assists with 14.Cruz recorded a team-high 14 digs.
Michaela Berendt led the Wildcats with 10 kills. Allie Dibernardo registered 38 assists while also contributing 16 digs.
The Friars next travel to St. John's on Saturday, Oct. 4 for a 2:00 p.m. BIG EAST match.
