VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Providence College women's volleyball team was defeated by the Villanova University Wildcats in straight sets on Nov. 20. The Friars move to 10-21 (1-16 BIG EAST) and Villanova improve to 23-7 (13-4 BIG EAST). The Friars fell in straight sets (25-22, 25-16, 25-16).
Freshman Allison Impellizeri (Seaford, N.Y.) led the Friars attack with eight kills. Marina Rose (Coventry, Conn.) was second among her teammates with five kills. Rose added six digs for the Providence defense.
The Friar defense was led by Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) with 15 digs. Kayla Fitzgerald (Redlands, Calif.) and Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) both posted eight digs for the Friars.
Wiesler collected 23 assists in the match.
The Friars will be back in action at 6:00 p.m. on Nov. 21 at Seton Hall.
