Providence Cross Country Ranked In Northeast Region

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the preseason regional rankings on Monday, Aug. 28. The poll had the Providence women ranked first in the Northeast region while it had the men ranked fourth.

The women enter the season as the defending Northeast champions. They are followed in the rankings by Ivy league schools Harvard, Yale and Cornell. The women have held the number one ranking in the Northeast region since Nov. 3, 2014. Over this time, the USTFCCCA has released 15 regional ranking polls.

The men are ranked fourth in the Northeast after having finished fourth at the Northeast meet last season. Syracuse tops the Northeast region and are followed by Iona and Columbia.
