GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Despite leading 10-7 in shots after the first 20 minutes, the Friars went into the locker room trailing 1-0.
- The Huskies jumped out to the lead at the 16:35 mark of the first period. Andrea Renner walked into the slot and finished between the pads of
Madison Myers (Colchester, Vt.) for her second goal of the season. She was assisted by Tori Sullivan and Veronika Pettey.
- Alina Mueller doubled the Huskies' lead 3:54 into the second. Pettey skated behind the goal and played a pass from below the goal line to Mueller who was ready for the one-timer in front.
- Pettey's assist was her second of the night and pushed her point total to 12 on the season.
- Providence had two power plays in the middle stanza but were unable to convert. The Friars got two shots on goal during the second man advantage.
- The Friars had about a minute of 4-on-3 time as the game neared the midpoint of the third.
Meaghan Rickard (Coventry, R.I.) nearly converted for Providence at the left post, but her bid went just wide.
- Myers finished the game with 24 saves for Providence, while Aerin Frankel made 31 for Northeastern.
