The Friars will play the Brown Bears in the 26th annual Mayor's Cup on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 2:00 p.m.
Last Time Out
In the last weekend of Hockey East play, Providence traveled to UConn (Nov. 19) and Maine (Nov. 21) where they secured a 3-3 tie against the Huskies and fell the to Black Bears, 2-3.

Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden),
Lindsay Bochna (Toronto, Ontario), and
Delaney Couture (Shrewsbury, Mass.) all netted goals in the match-up against the Huskies. The Friars held the lead until the final 4:19 of the final period when UConn found the equalizer to bring the game to overtime. The teams were scoreless through overtime, ending regulation in a 3-3 tie. Bochna scored in the shootout to give the Friars the extra point in the Hockey East standings.
Mireille Kingsley (Sudbury, Ontario) earned the start on the night and stopped 27-of-30 shots faced in net, as well as all four shootout attempts. Â

In last Sunday's match, Maine took an early lead just 2:22 unto the opening period.
Caroline Peterson (East Falmouth, Mass.) evened the playing field for Providence, 1-1, with a goal 35 seconds into period two before Maine took a 3-1 lead. Â
Lindsay Bochna (Toronto, Ontario) netted one for the Friars in the final 26 seconds of play. The Friars rally came too late as they were not able to find the equalizer in the final 26 seconds of regulation.
Sandra Abstreiter (Freising, Germany) made 19 saves in net for a .864 save percentage.

Scouting the Friars
Lindsay Bochna leads the charge offensively for the Friars. She has recorded six goals and four assists for a total of 10 points. Bochna is followed by
Hayley Lunny (Bedford, N.Y.) and
Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y.) have put up eight and seven points over the season, respectively.

Claire Tyo (Massena, N.Y.) have served as defensive threats for the Friars. Lunny has recorded a team-high 24 blocked shots while Tyo has 19. Tyo has proved to be a versatile player, as is tied for the team-high in assists (five).

Mayor's Cup History
In the 25th annual Mayor's Cup contest, the Friars downed the Bears, 10-0. The victory kept the Cup in Friartown for the fifth-consecutive year. It marks the first time either school has captured five titles in a row.

The series between the inter-city rivals commenced in 1996 when Brown defeated Providence, 4-3, on Jan. 24. The Friars lead the all-time Mayor Cup series, with a record of 12-10-3.

Scouting Brown
Brown is 1-9-2 overall and 1-6-1 in ECAC play. The Brown Bears are have lost four-straight games after picking up their only win of the season on Nov. 12 with a 1-0 victory over Dartmouth.
As a team, Brown averages 1.5 goals per game while giving up 3.4. The Brown Bears convert on 14.3% of power play chances and kill off 68.4% of penalties.
Who to Watch
Sophomore Shay Maloney has scored a team-high seven points for Brown on three goals and four assists. 13 separate players have tallied a point on the team with 10 different goal scorers.
Kaley Doyle and Hayley Kliczko have shared time between the pipes. Doyle has a team-high eight appearances while posting a 2.23 goals against average and .931 save percentage. She earned Brown's sole win this season with 27 saves in the matchup against Dartmouth.
