Men’s And Women’s Track And Field Set To Host Friar Invitational On Friday, April 11

The Friar Invitational is set for 4:15 p.m. on Friday at the Ray Treacy Track on the PC campus.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's and women's track and field teams will host the Friar Invitational on Friday, April 11 at 4:15 p.m. at the Ray Treacy Track on the Providence College campus in Providence, R.I.
On the women's side, the 800 meters will feature senior Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) and sophomore Maeve O'Neill (Cork, Ireland). In the mile, senior Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England) and graduate student Alex Millard (Kent, England) are also set to compete.
May, a seven-time All-American, holds both the program and facility record in the 800 meters (2:03.46), which she set at last year's Friar Invitational. Most recently, she placed second out of 223 runners in the 1,500 meters at the Raleigh Relays, clocking a personal-best time of 4:06.58—the ninth-best time in collegiate history. O'Neill placed fifth of 165 runners in the 800 meters at Raleigh Relays, finishing in 2:04.97.
Flockhart, an eight-time All-American, ran 4:17.61 in the 1,500 meters at Raleigh, placing 11th. She holds a personal best time of 4:04.98 in the 1,500 meters. Millard, a two-time All-American, won the 5,000 meters at the same meet with a time of 15:27.02, topping a field of 178 runners. She is ranked No. 5 in the country in the 5,000 meters.
On the men's side, graduate student Patrick Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) and senior Michael Morgan (Sligo, Ireland) will race in the 5,000 meters. Senior Brett Lehman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) will compete in the 400 meters.
Thygesen recently placed 23rd in the steeplechase at Raleigh with a time of 8:53.05. His personal best of 8:33.78, also set at Raleigh in 2023, earned him third place that year. He has run a personal best of 14:18.13 in the 5,000 meters.
Lehman placed eighth in the 400 meters at Raleigh, tying his program record with a time of 47.27. He won the 200 meters at last weekend's Ocean State Cup, setting a new program record of 21.47. He also holds the facility record in the 400 meters at Ray Treacy Track (48.36), set in 2023.
Morgan competed in the 10,000 meters at Raleigh, finishing in 29:27.96. He has a personal best of 13:56.30 in the 5,000 meters.
