PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's golf team returns to action on Monday, Oct. 12 and Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the Quinnipiac Classic at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn.

Play begins Monday morning with rounds one and two in a shotgun format. The third and final round will be played Tuesday. The field includes eight other schools: Fairfield, Monmouth, Bryant, Wagner, Bucknell, Quinnipiac, Iona and Manhattan.
At last year's Quinnipiac Classic, the Friars finished 11th overall.
The Farms Country Club Golf Course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish in 1960. Home to the 1998 U.S. Open Regional Qualifier and the 2009 U.S. Junior Amateur Regional Qualifier, the par 72 course ranges 5,555 yards.
Providence last competed at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic at Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn. from Sept. 28-29. The Friars placed fifth overall with a team score of 968 (+104). Freshman
Annabel Widdifield (McLean, Va.) led the way for the Friars, finishing 15th while shooting 238 (+22) over 54 holes. Three Friars finished inside the top-20 including freshman
Maddie Hyndman (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and
Claire McTaggart (Barrington, R.I.).
The Friars opened the season on Monday, Sept. 14 through Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the Warrior Invitational at Haverhill Country Club in Haverhill, Mass. Providence placed fifth overall with a team score of 947 (+83). Hyndman led the way for the Friars in her first collegiate tournament, finishing tied for 13th while shooting 232 (+16) over 54 holes.
