SCOUTING THE FRIARS… The Providence College women's soccer team recently tied with last year's BIG EAST champion Georgetown (3-4-3, 0-2-2 BIG EAST), 1-1, on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Providence moved to 2-2-8 overall, ranking them second for most ties in NCAA Division I this season, and 0-1-2 in conference for the 2026 season. Redshirt-sophomore Amaya Coffie (Warwick, R.I.) scored the Friars' lone goal and marks her first goal of the 2026 season in just her second game back. The Friars come into this match undefeated at home with a 2-0-4 mark.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS… Villanova comes into this weekend match undefeated with an overall record of 8-0-4 and a 3-0-1 conference record, following a 0-0 tie against Xavier on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The Wildcats are the sole BIG EAST team to be undefeated overall this season, as this is their first time being unbeaten through their first 11 games since 2006. In the 2026 BIG EAST Preseason Poll, Villanova was selected to finish fifth overall, but are now sitting at the top of the conference. Three different Wildcats earned BIG EAST accolades last week, including Avrie Nelsen being named the league's Offensive Player of the Week and Hannah Dickinson the Goalkeeper of the Week. Nelsen, a sophomore forward, leads Villanova with six goals and 14 points on the year so far. Graduate goalkeeper Hannah Dickinson has notched six shutouts alone this season and has produced 20 shutouts in three seasons with the Wildcats. In last week's matchups, she allowed just one goal on the week with a season-high four saves in both matches.
