FRIARS VS. HOYAS ALL-TIME... Providence and Georgetown have met 79 times during the history of the two women's basketball programs. Georgetown leads the all-time series, 45-34.Â
FRIARS AND HOYAS AT MCDONOUGH ARENA... Providence and Georgetown have met 34 times at McDonough Arena. The Hoyas lead the series on their home court, 22-12. Providence picked up a win in the most recent game between the two teams at the venue on March 1, 2025 (66-62).
PROVIDENCE HAS CLAIMED LAST TWO REGULAR-SEASON MEETINGS... The Friars have claimed wins in each of the last two regular-season meetings against Georgetown. On March 1, 2025, Providence defeated Georgetown at McDonough Arena. Earlier this season, Providence defeated Georgetown, 68-61, in overtime at Alumni Hall. Sandwiched in between those two regular-season games was last year's BIG EAST Tournament match-up in the first round on March 7, 2025. The Hoyas pulled out a 58-56 victory at Mohegan Sun Arena.
FRIARS AND HOYAS IN OVERTIME... The Friars and Hoyas have played four overtime games during the all-time series. The series is tied, 2-2, when playing in overtime with the Friars earning wins in each of the last two. Three of the four overtime games were played at McDonough Arena and the Hoyas are 2-1 in that scenario.
THREE OF NEXT FOUR ON THE FRIARS... The Friars will play three of its next four games on the road, beginning on Feb. 14 when Providence travels to McDonough Arena to face Georgetown. The Friars return to Alumni Hall to host DePaul on Wednesday, Feb. 18, before back-to-back road games against No. 1/1 UConn (Feb. 22) and Creighton (Feb. 26). The match-up between Providence and UConn will be played at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn. The Friars and Bluejays will square off at D.J. Sokol Arena in Omaha, Neb.
HOME-SWEET-HOME... The Friars have recorded 10 of their 12 victories this season at home in Alumni Hall, including four of their five BIG EAST wins. When playing away from home, the Friars have posted a 2-8 record [1-7 in true road games; 1-1 at a neutral site]. Providence earned its first true road win of the season against DePaul on Jan. 4. The Friars overcame a 19-point deficit and claimed a 69-59 victory.Â
BALANCED TEAM EFFORT HELPS FRIARS DEFEAT BUTLER IN MOST RECENT GAME... The Friars are coming off a 73-64 victory over Butler in their most recent game on Feb. 11 in Providence, R.I. Four Friars scored in double figures and were led by Sabou Gueye's game-high 19 points. Teneisia Brown checked in with 16 points, while Orlagh Gormley (13) and Nalani Kaysia (10) rounded out the list. Gueye and Brown each hauled in a game-high eight rebounds. Providence shot over 50-percent for the fourth time this season, having converted 26-51 field-goal attempts (.510). The Friars also shot 81-percent from the foul line (17-21), marking the third-most free throws made by the team in a game this season. Providence improved to 7-3 this season when three-or-more players score in double figures, including a 3-0 mark when four players hit double digits.
SABOU GUEYE NAMED TO BIG EAST WEEKLY HONOR ROLL FOR A SIXTH TIME... Sabou Gueye was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Feb. 9. It marked her sixth appearance of the season on the league's weekly awards list. The previous week, Gueye averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 3.0 steals per game, while shooting .531 from the field (17-32). On Feb. 4 against Marquette, she was limited to 20 minutes of action due to foul trouble and finished the game with 10 points, one rebound and one steal. Gueye closed the week with a career-high 29 points on 13-23 shooting to help the Friars defeat Xavier on Feb. 8. She also added a game-high nine rebounds and five steals to go along with two assists and one blocked shot.
RARE AIR... Sabou Gueye is the first BIG EAST player to record at least 29 points, nine rebounds and five steals in a regular-season conference game since Lucy Olsen achieved the feat for Villanova on Dec. 30, 2023. Olsen put up 31 points, nine rebounds and five steals – also against Xavier.
TENEISIA BROWN NETS FIRST 20+ POINT GAME AS A FRIAR... Teneisia Brown eclipsed the 20-point plateau for the first time as a Friar on Feb. 4 at Marquette. She scored 24 points on 11-21 shooting from the field. Brown is the first Friar to score 20+ points off the bench since Nariah Scott (now a graduate assistant for the women's basketball team at Georgetown) tallied 20 points vs. Georgetown on Feb. 21, 2023. Prior to arriving at Providence, Brown recorded 20+ points in 10 games.
SABOU GUEYE NOTCHES SEVENTH 20-POINT GAME... Sabou Gueye scored a career-high 29 points against Xavier on Feb. 8. It marked her seventh 20-point game of the season, which ranks first on the team and tied for fourth in the BIG EAST. Gueye recorded just two 20-point games during her previous three seasons of NCAA Division I college basketball. Five of Gueye's 20-point performances this season have come during BIG EAST regular-season play. Three other players on the Friars' roster have hit 20 points this year. Payton Dunbar scored 22 points against Boston College (Nov. 15), Orlagh Gormley recorded 21 points against Creighton (Jan. 17) and Teneisia Brown tallied 24 points against Marquette (Feb. 4).

20/20... Sabou Gueye (22 points) and Orlagh Gormley (21 points) each eclipsed the 20-point mark in the Friars' game against Creighton on Jan. 17. The last time two Friars scored 20-points in the same BIG EAST game dates back to Jan. 24, 2024 against Seton Hall. Grace Efosa scored 29 points and Marta Morales Romero added 26 in a 82-76 victory in overtime. Additionally, the last time two Friars scored 20-points in a BIG EAST game of regulation length was on Jan. 27, 2017 in a 66-64 win over Marquette. Jovana Nogic scored 27 points and Sarah Beal chipped in 25.
FLOOR GENERAL... Sophomore Orlagh Gormley has returned to the court as the Friars' floor general after sitting out the final 22 games of her freshman campaign with an injury. She's impacting both ends of the floor, leading the team in assists (4.0 apg) and steals (2.1 spg), while contributing 8.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Gormley has recorded 3+ assists in 21 of the 25 games she has played, including 10 games with five-or-more assists. She has dished 5+ assists in six of the 14 league games she has played in and ranks fifth among BIG EAST players in assists per game during conference play (4.0 apg).
100 ASSISTS IN A SINGLE SEASON... Orlagh Gormley has dished 100 assists this season (4.0 apg). She is just the sixth Friar in the last 25 years to record 100 assists in a single season and the combined to do it eight times. In the last 10 years, only Janai Crooms has achieved the feat.

SABOU GUEYE PROVING TO BE ONE OF THE TOP PLAYERS IN BIG EAST... Grad transfer Sabou Gueye is a six-time BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll selection this season. Through 26 games overall, she ranks sixth in the BIG EAST in scoring (15.3 ppg), 10th in rebounding (5.9 rpg), third in field-goal percentage (.503), 10th in steals (1.9 spg), 11th in blocked shots (0.92 bpg). In BIG EAST Conference regular-season action, she ranks third in scoring (16.5 ppg), seventh in rebounding (6.5 rpg), third in field-goal percentage (.505), eighth in steals (2.0 spg), 10th in blocked shots (0.93 bpg), second in offensive rebounding (2.5 orpg), 11th in defensive boards (4.0 drpg) and ninth in minutes played (32.13 mpg).
TENEISIA BROWN IS TOUGH ON THE GLASS... Teneisia Brown leads the team and ranks ninth in the BIG EAST in rebounding (5.9 rpg). She has hauled in a season-best 14 rebounds in two games vs. Central Connecticut (Nov. 10) and Bryant (Nov. 30). Her career high in BIG EAST Conference play for rebounding is 10 (vs. St. John's, 12/7/25). In addition to her rebounding prowess, she ranks second on the team in scoring (10.0 ppg) and third in steals (1.3 spg).
TENEISIA BROWN RANKS 18TH AMONG ACTIVE NCAA DIVISION I PLAYERS CAREER REBOUND... Teneisia Brown eclipsed 900 career rebounds in the Friars' game against St. John's on Jan. 27. In 128 career games, Brown has hauled in 918 boards for an average of 7.2 rebounds per game. Brown ranks 18th among active NCAA Division I players in career rebounds.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE TROUBLE... Sabou Gueye and Teneisia Brown are tied for the team lead in double-doubles, with two each. Gueye tallied 16 points and 12 rebounds vs. Boston College (Nov. 15) and 16 points and 12 rebounds vs. Xavier (Dec. 4). Brown recorded 12 points and 14 rebounds against Central Connecticut (Nov. 10) and 11 points and 10 boards vs. St. John's (Dec. 7).Â
DOUBLE DIGITS... Sabou Gueye leads the Friars in double-digit scoring games (19) and 20-point games (seven). Nine other players on the roster have reached double figures, including Teneisia Brown (14), Orlagh Gormley (nine), Payton Dunbar (eight), Ashley Dinges (four), Sophi Hall (three), Nalani Kaysia (one), Princess Moody (one), Riley Hamburger (one), Sami Mancini (one) and Audrey Shields (one).Â
FRIARS ARE 2-11 WHEN OUT-REBOUNDED BY OPPONENT... The Friars are 2-11 this season when they record fewer rebounds than their opponent, including a 2-10 mark in BIG EAST play. The Friars recorded their only two victories of the season when being out-rebounded on Jan. 4 at DePaul and Jan. 17 vs. Creighton. When the Friars win the battle of the boards, the team has posted a 7-3 mark on the season.
FRIARS SUFFER FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON WHEN SCORING 65-OR-MORE POINTS IN A GAME... Providence suffered its first loss of the season when scoring 65-or-more points on Jan. 27 at Villanova (83-68). Providence is 8-1 on the year when scoring 65+ points, including a 4-0 mark when scoring 70+.
TENEISIA BROWN INCHING CLOSER TO 1,500 CAREER POINTS... Graduate transfer Teneisia Brown is inching closer to the 1,500-career points milestone. Brown arrived at Providence for her final season after stops at Merrimack (2020-22) and Fairleigh Dickinson (2023-25). She averaged double figures in the scoring column during each of her last three seasons of college basketball and currently ranks second on the team in scoring for the Friars through 26 games (10.0 ppg). Brown has a career scoring total of 1,446 points heading into Saturday's game at Georgetown. Â
FRIARS DEFEAT DE PAUL FOR FIRST WIN VS. BLUE DEMONS IN CHICAGO ALL-TIME... Providence overcame a 19-point deficit to defeat DePaul, 69-59, at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill. on Jan. 4. It marked the Friars' first victory over DePaul in Chicago, Ill. all-time. Providence entered the match-up 0-18 vs. DePaul in games played in Chicago.
FRIARS POST LARGEST COMEBACK VICTORY SINCE 2017... The Friars overcame a 19-point deficit to defeat DePaul, 69-59, on Jan. 4 in Chicago, Ill. It marks the largest comeback victory since Nov. 11, 2017, when Providence rallied from a 20-point deficit to defeat Northeastern, 98-95, in overtime.
LARGEST COMEBACK IN BIG EAST PLAY SINCE 2013... The Friars overcame a 19-point deficit to defeat DePaul, 69-59, on Jan. 4. It marks the largest comeback win in BIG EAST play since Jan. 23, 2013. On that day, the Friars rallied from a 21-point deficit to defeat Villanova, 65-60, in overtime.
MOST STEALS BY A FRIAR IN A SINGLE GAME SINCE 2008-09 SEASON... Sophomore Orlagh Gormley recorded a career-high nine steals in the Friars' game against DePaul (Jan. 4). Her nine steals are the most by a Friar since Sarah Beal collected 10 against Bryant on Dec. 12, 2009.Â
PRINCESS MOODY NETS CAREER-HIGH AGAINST NO. 1 UCONN... In the Friars' game against No. 1 UConn on Dec. 31, freshman Princess Moody scored a career-high 11 points. She hit 3-6 attempts from the floor, including a 2-2 performance beyond the three-point arc. She also added three boards, one assist and one steal in 22 minutes of action. Moody's previous career high in scoring was five points, which she has hit on four separate occasions.Â
SOPHI HALL PERFECT EN ROUTE TO A CAREER-BEST 18 POINTS... Junior Sophi Hall played 13 minutes off the bench in the Friars' match-up against Yale (Nov. 21) and recorded a career-high 18 points. Sixteen of her 18 points came in the second half. She was perfect from the field (5-5), including a 3-3 showing from beyond the arc. She also was 5-5 from the foul line.
PAYTON DUNBAR'S CAREER-HIGH 22 POINTS LIFT FRIARS OVER BOSTON COLLEGE... Sophomore Payton Dunbar recorded a career-high 22 points against Boston College on Nov. 15. Dunbar shot 8-14 from the field, including a 5-10 performance beyond the arc. Entering the game, Dunbar was 0-9 from three-point territory.Â

BIG EAST PRESEASON POLL... The Friars were picked to finish 10th in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll, released at the league's annual media day on Oct. 21 at Madison Square Garden. Last season, Providence completed the year with a 13-19 overall record and claimed a seventh-place finish in the regular-season standings with a 6-12 conference record.Â
