With the loss, the Friars move to 11-20-2 overall and 8-13-2 in Hockey East play, while the Terriers improve to 10-19-3 overall and 7-14-2 in conference action. Sophomore

1st Period
-The Friars opened the scoring at 12:58 of the first period when sophomore
Emma Hofbauer (Vomperbach, Austria) finished a feed from junior
Dylan Berman (Deephaven, Minn.) in the offensive zone. Freshman
Sami Snyder (Waterloo, Ontario) earned the secondary assist. The goal marked Hofbauer's fifth of the season and Berman's first point of the year.
-Providence held a 9-5 edge in shots on goal after one period and successfully killed off one penalty.
-The Friars carried a lead into the second period for just the sixth time this season.
2nd Period
-Boston University tied the game at 1-1 at 17:22 on a two-on-one goal by Lexie Bertelsen. Lilli Welcke and Luisa Welcke recorded the assists.
-The Friars went 0-for-1 on the power play in the period while holding the Terriers scoreless on two power-play opportunities.
-Providence maintained the shot advantage through two periods, leading 26-20.
3rd Period
-Boston University took a 2-1 lead at 12:01 of the third period on a power-play goal by Maeve Kelly. Anežka Čabelová and Sydney Healey were credited with the assists.
-The Terriers sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 19:20. Luisa Welcke scored, assisted by Kelly and Greta Henderson.

-Graduate student goaltender
Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) made 28 saves.
-The Friars fell to 20-37-7 all-time against Boston University and finished the regular season 0-2-1 against the Terriers.
-With results around the league finalized, Providence secured the No. 9 seed in the Hockey East Tournament. The Friars will compete in the Opening Round on Wednesday, Feb. 25, on the road against an opponent to be determined.
