PROVIDENCE, R.I. – More than 200 people gathered at Calabria Pavilion on the campus of Providence College on Saturday, June 6, to celebrate the retirement of longtime Providence College Director of Cross Country and Track and Field
Ray Treacy '82.
Treacy was honored for his 41 years of service with attendance from former and current student-athletes along with administration and staff. Father Kenneth R. Sicard, O.P. '78, '82G, opened the event with a prayer. Former athletes Keith Kelly '01, 07G, Amy Rudolph '95 and Andy Ronan '86 all delivered remarks honoring Treacy.
Treacy will travel to Eugene, Ore., next week for his final NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships as Director of Cross Country and Track and Field. The Friars will have two athletes, sophomore
Elliott Pugh (Tauranga, New Zealand) and junior
Maeve O'Neill (Cork, Ireland), competing from June 10-13. Treacy will officially retire at the end of June.
