Women's Soccer Set To Compete Against Stonehill At Home

The Friars will face the Stonehill Skyhawks on Thursday, August. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Chapey Field.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's soccer team will return to action versus the Stonehill Skyhawks (0-1-2) on Thursday, Aug. 27. The match will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. and will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS… The Providence College women's soccer team recently tied 0-0 in a weekend match at Northeastern (2-0-1) on Sunday, Aug. 23, in Boston, Mass. The Friars are now 1-0-3 overall after opening the season with two 1-1 draws against both UMass Lowell and Monmouth. The Friars also claimed their first win in a 3-0 shutout against Rhode Island. Providence enters this game tied seventh in NCAA Division I for shots per game (24.00) and has outshot their opponents 85-38.
Out of Providence's five goals this season, three have been recorded by newcomers. Freshman Jocy Koffi (Abidjan, Ivory Coast) is the lone Friar with multiple goals (2), while Courtnee Pickles (Methuen, Mass.), Isabella Kloock-Jensen (Aabenraa, Denmark) and Signe Tingager (Alleroed, Denmark) have each notched one goal. Emma Gregorski (South Glastonbury, Conn.) is the only player who has tracked all 90 minutes across all four games this season. Goalkeeper Caitlin Daley (Norwich, Conn.) has recorded a 1.000 save percentage this season, stopping all seven shots on target.
BIG EAST WEEKLY HONORS…
MOURATIDIS AND PICKLES NAMED TO PRESEASON ALL-BIG EAST TEAM… Thaea Mouratidis and Courtnee Pickles were named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. The BIG EAST released its 2026 Preseason Coaches' Poll and preseason honors on Aug. 3. The last time that two Friars were named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team in the same season was 2019.
BIG EAST PRESEASON COACHES POLL… Providence women's soccer was picked to finish sixth in the 2026 BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning 60 points. Providence finished last season with a 3-4-3 record in conference play.
SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS… Stonehill comes into Thursday's match with a 0-1-2 record following a loss on the road against Holy Cross on Wednesday, Aug. 19. The Skyhawks were picked to finish fifth in the Northeast Conference for their 2026 Preseason Poll. Sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Hamel was recently named the NEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week and NEC Prime Performer. Over the course of two games, Hamel posted a .833 save percentage against New Hampshire and Bryant, as well as her first career shutout.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST STONEHILL… The Friars hold an advantage of a 8-5-0 record all-time against the Skyhawks. In their last meeting, the Friars were defeated by Stonehill 3-2 in overtime back in 1995 in Storrs, Conn.
RETURNERS… The Friars return 18 players from last years roster, including multiple All-BIG EAST Team members.
Graduate student midfielder Thaea Mouratidis (Toronto, Ont.) returns to play her fourth season with the Friars. She was named to this year's Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. Throughout her career she has recorded 13 points on two goals and nine assists. Last season, Mouratidis led the team with five assists and notched one goal. She was the lone Friar to be named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team at the end of the season.
Sophomore forward Courtnee Pickles (Methuen, Mass.) returns for her second season with the Friars. She was named to this year's Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. In her freshman season, Pickles played in all 16 games for the Friars and tied second on the team in points with seven on three goals and one assist. She tallied 1,140 minutes and earned All-BIG EAST Third Team honors.
Sophomore midfielder Emma Gregorski (South Glastonbury, Conn.) enters her second season with Providence. In her freshman campaign, Gregorski totaled 1,204 minutes played and tallied two assists.
NEWCOMERS… Providence welcomes nine student-athletes to the program this season, featuring two transfers and seven freshmen. The transfers include graduate student Caitlin Daley (Norwich, Conn.) from New Haven and Carolyn Hinkle (Millersville, Pa.) from Buffalo.
In her three seasons at New Haven, Daley started 49 games in goal and holds a .784 career save percentage. She led the NCAA Division I in total saves with 146 last season and ranked second in saves per game with 9.13 in 2025. Hinkle played at Buffalo for two seasons, where she appeared in 39 games while starting 16. She totaled eight career points on two goals and four assists. As a freshman in 2024, she was named to the MAC All-Freshman team.
The incoming freshmen class includes Kaitlyn Brady (Covington, La.), Georgia Christos (Madison, N.J.), Kenzie Ellis (Norwich, Conn.), Makenna Foley (Plymouth, Mass.), Jocy Koffi (Abidjan, Ivory Coast), Maria Ravotti (Bradfordwoods, Pa.) and Signe Tingager (Alleroed, Denmark).
UP NEXT… The Friars will be back on the road to Piscataway, N.J. to face off against Rutgers (0-1-2) on Sunday, Aug. 30. The match will start at 2:00 p.m. and be streamed on B1G+. The Friars are 2-18-1 all-time against the Scarlet Knights, after losing 1-0 on the road during the 2023 season.

- Monday, Aug. 17 - Stephanie Schoeley (Thedford, Ont.) was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week. The junior anchored the Friars' defense, logging 180 minutes of action across two games and helped limit UMass Lowell to only one shot on goal in the match.
