Women's Soccer To Face Off Against Brown

The Friars will compete in an intra-city match-up against Brown on Thursday, Sept. 17 in Providence, R.I. at 7:00 p.m.

– The Providence College women's soccer team will kick off a three-game road trip against the Brown University Bears (5-2-1) on Thursday, Sept. 17. Kickoff will be at 7:00 p.m. and will be available for streaming on ESPN+ for the Friars' final non-league match.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS… The Providence College women's soccer team recently tied Maine, 1-1, at home in Providence, R.I. on Thursday, Sept. 10. The Friars improved to 2-0-6 overall to stay undefeated in the 2026 season. This marks the Friars' longest streak in program history without a loss. Junior Carolyn Hinkle (Millersville, Pa.) scored the lone goal, her second of the season for the Friars. 
 
BIG EAST WEEKLY HONORS… 
  • Monday, Aug. 17 - Stephanie Schoeley (Thedford, Ont.) was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week. The junior anchored the Friars' defense, logging 180 minutes of action across two games and helped limit UMass Lowell to only one shot on goal in the match.
  • Monday, Aug. 17 - Jocy Koffi was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, after scoring her first and second career goals across the two matches and recorded 169 minutes on the field. 
  • Monday, Aug. 31 – Jocy Koffi was once again named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, after scoring her fifth collegiate goal in six games, including her first multi-goal game against Rutgers.
 
SCOUTING THE BEARS… Brown comes into Thursday's match with a 5-2-1 record following a 2-1 win against Hofstra on Sunday, Sept. 13. The Bears win marked head coach Kia McNeil's 100th career win during her 10th season at Brown. Senior Angelina Vargas scored the two goals in the match to mark her fourth and fifth goals of the season, including her third game-winning goal of the year. In the 2026 Ivy League Preseason Poll, Brown was selected to finish third, grabbing two first place votes.
 
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST BROWN… The Friars hold a 12-24-0 all-time record against the Bears. In their last meeting, Brown earned a 4-0 win on the road during the 2025 season.
  
UP NEXT… The Friars will stay on the road and kick off BIG EAST play against Creighton (3-3-1) on Saturday, Sept. 26. The match will start at 1:00 p.m. and be streamed on ESPN+. The Friars are 6-5-1 all-time against the Bluejays, after their last match-up where the Friars tied, 3-3, at home last season for Senior Night.
