Volleyball Set To Compete At The Harvard Tournament

The Friars will face Harvard University and Sacred Heart University in Cambridge, Mass.

CAMBRIDGE, MASS.- The Providence College volleyball team will close out its non-conference campaign at the Harvard Tournament in Cambridge, Mass. The Friars will open the tournament on Friday (Sep. 18th) against Harvard at 6:00 p.m. On Saturday (Sep. 19th), Providence will close out the weekend against Sacred Heart at 6:00 p.m. 

SCOUTING THE FRIARS... The Friars are entering the tournament at 8-1 overall following a weekend sweep at the 21stAnnual Friar Classic. Providence dominated the tournament and won the Friars Cup after sweeping Manhattan (3-0), Stonehill (3-0) and Holy Cross (3-0). 
  • Freshman Aubrey Easterwood (Dallas, Texas) was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week following a strong performance at the net. Easterwood currently leads the team in blocks with 47.0. The freshman also leads the BIG EAST in average blocks per set with 1.52.
  • Senior Miller McDonald (Dallas, Texas) holds the number one spot in two categories with 154 assists and 17 service aces. 
  • Junior Sophia Adkins (Cincinnati, Ohio) leads the Friars in kills with 76 total. 

SCOUTING HARVARD... The Crimson enter the tournament at 7-0 following a mid-week sweep (3-0) against Merrimack College. Harvard has only lost four sets in all seven matches they have played so far. 
  • Sophomore Sofia Rossi leads the Crimson in kills (74) and services aces (27). 
  • Harvard's leader in blocks is senior Ryleigh Patterson, who has racked up 39.0. 

SCOUTING SACRED HEART... The Pioneers enter the tournament 6-4 following a mid-week sweep (3-0) against Fairleigh Dickinson.
  • Senior Lauren Hubert currently leads Sacred Heart in kills (143) and is second in digs with (103). 
  • The Pioneers assists leader is sophomore Addy Franz with an impressive 322 total assists. 

WHAT'S NEXT... The Providence College volleyball team will return to action next Friday, Sep. 25th, to open up its BIG EAST play at Alumni Hall against DePaul University at 5:00 p.m. 


2026 SEASON AWARDS AND HONORS 
  • Monday Sep. 7 - Aubrey Easterwood was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll. The freshman recorded 29 kills and averaged 2.42 kills per set. She also totaled 18 blocks on the weekend. 
  • Monday Sep. 14 - Aubrey Easterwood was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week. The freshman held opponents to a .025 hitting percentage and averaged 1.67 blocks per frame. She was also named the Friar Classic Most Valuable Player.
