Women's Soccer Set To Host St. John's In BIG EAST Battle

The Friars will take on the St. John’s Red Storm at home for a weekday matchup on Wednesday, Oct. 21 in Providence, R.I. at 6:00 p.m.
Providence, R.I. – The Providence College women's soccer team is back at home with another BIG EAST matchup against St. Johns (3-7-4, 0-3-3 BIG EAST) on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Kickoff will be at 6:00 p.m. and will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS… The Providence College women's soccer team recently were defeated in a shutout against Seton Hall (5-1-5, 1-1-3 BIG EAST), on Saturday, Oct. 17. Providence moved to 2-3-9 overall and 0-2-3 in conference. The Friars come into the weekday match undefeated at home (2-0-5) and look to extend their streak.

SCOUTING THE RED STORM… St. John's comes into this weekday match with an overall record of 3-7-4 and 0-3-3 in conference, following a shutout loss against Marquette on Saturday, Oct. 17. Goaltender Kayla Bower has recorded 51 saves on the season, and across 14 games has notched six shutouts. Eight different Red Storm players have recorded a goal throughout the season. St. John's currently sits just below the Friars in BIG EAST standings, as both teams look to grab their first conference win this week.

- Monday, Aug. 17 - Stephanie Schoeley (Thedford, Ont.) was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week. The junior anchored the Friars' defense, logging 180 minutes of action across two games and helped limit UMass Lowell to only one shot on goal in the match.
- Monday, Aug. 17 - Jocy Koffi was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, after scoring her first and second career goals across the two matches and recorded 169 minutes on the field.
- Monday, Aug. 31 – Jocy Koffi was once again named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, after scoring her fifth collegiate goal in six games, including her first multi-goal game against Rutgers.
- Monday, Sept. 28 – Jocy Koffi was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll, after scoring the lone goal in the Friars BIG EAST opener, placing all three of her shots on goal over 82 minutes of action.
- Monday, Oct. 12 – Carolyn Hinkle was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll, after assisting the game-tying goal against Georgetown then scoring the game-tying goal against Villanova across 150 minutes of play this week.
