Friars will host the Blue Demons at Alumni Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+.

FRIARS SET TO HOST DePAUL IN BIG EAST PLAY... Providence will host DePaul in BIG EAST action at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. on Wednesday, Feb. 18. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

FRIARS AND BLUE DEMONS ALL-TIME... Providence and DePaul have met 38 times during the history of the two women's basketball programs. DePaul leads the all-time series, 31-7. During each of the last two years, the two teams have split the regular-season series with one another.

PROVIDENCE VS. DePAUL AT ALUMNI HALL... Providence and DePaul have played at Alumni Hall 16 times during the all-time series. DePaul leads the series on the Friars' home court, 12-4. However, the Friars have won each of the last two games played at Alumni Hall vs. the Blue Demons.

SERIES SNAPSHOT... The Friars have won three of the last five games against DePaul, accounting for three of their seven victories all-time in the series. The Friars have claimed victory in each of the last two meetings between the two programs at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. Additionally, Providence has won back-to-back regular season games against DePaul for just the second time during the all-time series (first time in BIG EAST regular-season play). The last time the Friars won two-straight games against DePaul dates back to the first two games of the all-time series: March 19, 1987 (95-93) as part of the National Invitational Tournament and Dec. 29, 1989 (106-92) at the Stanford University Lady Cardinal Classic.

FRIARS LOOK TO SWEEP 2025-26 SEASON SERIES... In the first meeting between the two teams on Jan. 4, Providence overcame a 19-point deficit to defeat DePaul, 69-59, at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill. It marked the Friars' first victory over DePaul in Chicago, Ill. all-time. Providence entered the match-up 0-18 vs. DePaul in games played in Chicago. Sabou Gueye led the Friars with 17 points and added three boards, five assists, three blocked shots and one steal. Orlagh Gormley notched 15 points, five rebounds, five assists and a career-high nine steals. Teneisia Brown and Sophi Hall rounded out the list of double-digit scorers with 12 points and 11 points, respectively.

FRIARS POST LARGEST COMEBACK VICTORY SINCE 2017... The Friars overcame a 19-point deficit to defeat DePaul, 69-59, on Jan. 4 in Chicago, Ill. It marks the largest comeback victory since Nov. 11, 2017, when Providence rallied from a 20-point deficit to defeat Northeastern, 98-95, in overtime.

LARGEST COMEBACK IN BIG EAST PLAY SINCE 2013... The Friars overcame a 19-point deficit to defeat DePaul, 69-59, on Jan. 4. It marks the largest comeback win in BIG EAST play since Jan. 23, 2013. On that day, the Friars rallied from a 21-point deficit to defeat Villanova, 65-60, in overtime.

MOST STEALS BY A FRIAR IN A SINGLE GAME SINCE 2008-09 SEASON... Sophomore Orlagh Gormley recorded a career-high nine steals in the Friars' game against DePaul (Jan. 4). Her nine steals are the most by a Friar since Sarah Beal collected 10 against Bryant on Dec. 12, 2009. 

HOME-SWEET-HOME... The Friars have recorded 10 of their 13 victories this season at home in Alumni Hall, including four of their six BIG EAST wins. When playing away from home, the Friars have posted a 3-8 record [2-7 in true road games; 1-1 at a neutral site]. Providence earned its first true road win of the season against DePaul on Jan. 4. The Friars overcame a 19-point deficit and claimed a 69-59 victory. Providence picked up its second road victory on Feb. 14 at Georgetown (59-54) after overcoming a seven-point deficit.

THREE-STRAIGHT BIG EAST WINS... The Friars have won three-straight BIG EAST games heading into Wednesday's match-up against DePaul. It marks the team's longest win streak of the year during BIG EAST regular-season action, and included victories over Xavier (66-50), Butler (73-64) and Georgetown (59-54). Providence posted a season-best four-game win streak during the non-conference portion of it's schedule in November vs. Central Connecticut (65-40), Boston College (70-61), Northeastern (50-45) and Yale (75-64).

LAST TIME FRIARS WON FOUR-STRAIGHT IN BIG EAST PLAY... A victory over DePaul on Wednesday would give the Friars four-straight wins in BIG EAST action. The last time Providence won four-consecutive BIG EAST regular-season games dates back to the 1995-96 campaign. Between Feb. 15, 1996 and Feb. 24, 1996, the Friars defeated Seton Hall (86-82), Boston College (83-56), Pittsburgh (90-63) and Syracuse (73-72).

STRONG SECOND HALF AND SOLID DEFENSE PROPELS FRIARS TO 59-54 WIN AT GEORGETOWN IN MOST RECENT GAME... The Friars overcame a seven-point halftime deficit (26-19) to defeat Georgetown, 59-54, on Feb. 14 at McDonough Arena in Washington, D.C. After a lackluster offensive performance in the first half, the Friars outscored the Hoyas, 22-11, in the third quarter and carried a 41-37 lead into the fourth. Teneisia Brown (10) and Sophi Hall (eight) combined for 18 points to fuel the comeback. Georgetown opened the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run to claim a 48-45 lead with 5:51 to play. Riley Hamburger and Sophi Hall both hit timely buckets - including a three by Hall that gave Providence the lead for good with 1:43 to play. Sabou Gueye sealed the game from the foul line, hitting 3-4 attempts in the closing seconds. Gueye finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Hall completed the game with 15 points on 5-9 shooting, including a 4-7 performance beyond the arc. Teneisia Brown added 14 points, six rebounds, one assist and two steals. Orlagh Gormley led the Friars in steals (five) and assists (three).

65+... Providence suffered its first loss of the season when scoring 65-or-more points on Jan. 27 at Villanova (83-68). Providence is 8-1 on the year when scoring 65+ points, including a 4-0 mark when scoring 70+.

SABOU GUEYE NAMED TO BIG EAST WEEKLY HONOR ROLL FOR A SEVENTH TIME... Sabou Gueye was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Feb. 16.  It marked her seventh appearance of the season on the league's weekly awards list. Last week, Gueye paced the Friars with 18.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week. She also added 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game while shooting 50-percent from the field (13-26) and 91-percent from the foul line (10-11). She tallied 19 points, eight boards, two assists and two blocks against Butler on Feb. 11. She closed the week with 17 points, seven rebounds and two assists at Georgetown. She scored 11 of her 17 points in a pivotal second half to rally the Friars from a seven-point halftime deficit.

FLOOR GENERAL... Sophomore Orlagh Gormley has returned to the court as the Friars' floor general after sitting out the final 22 games of her freshman campaign with an injury. She's impacting both ends of the floor, leading the team in assists (4.0 apg) and steals (2.2 spg), while contributing 8.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Gormley has recorded 3+ assists in 22 of the 26 games she has played, including 10 games with five-or-more assists. She has dished 5+ assists in six of the 15 league games she has played in and ranks fifth among BIG EAST players in assists per game during conference play (3.93 apg).

100 ASSISTS IN A SINGLE SEASON... Orlagh Gormley has dished 103 assists this season (4.0 apg). She is just the sixth Friar in the last 25 years to record 100 assists in a single season and the combined to do it eight times. In the last 10 years, only Janai Crooms has achieved the feat.

SABOU GUEYE NOTCHES SEVENTH 20-POINT GAME... Sabou Gueye scored a career-high 29 points against Xavier on Feb. 8. It marked her seventh 20-point game of the season, which ranks first on the team and fifth in the BIG EAST. Gueye recorded just two 20-point games during her previous three seasons of NCAA Division I college basketball. Five of Gueye's 20-point performances this season have come during BIG EAST regular-season play. Three other players on the Friars' roster have hit 20 points this year. Payton Dunbar scored 22 points against Boston College (Nov. 15), Orlagh Gormley recorded 21 points against Creighton (Jan. 17) and Teneisia Brown tallied 24 points against Marquette (Feb. 4).

SABOU GUEYE PROVING TO BE ONE OF THE TOP PLAYERS IN BIG EAST... Grad transfer Sabou Gueye is a seven-time BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll selection this season. Through 27 games overall, she ranks fifth in the BIG EAST in scoring (15.3 ppg), tied for ninth in rebounding (6.0 rpg), third in field-goal percentage (.500), 10th in steals (1.8 spg) and 11th in blocked shots (0.89 bpg). In BIG EAST Conference regular-season action, she ranks third in scoring (16.6 ppg), sixth in rebounding (6.6 rpg), third in field-goal percentage (.500), ninth in steals (1.9 spg), 13th in blocked shots (0.88 bpg), second in offensive rebounding (2.38 orpg), tied for ninth in defensive boards (4.19 drpg) and 11th in minutes played (31.78 mpg).

20/20... Sabou Gueye (22 points) and Orlagh Gormley (21 points) each eclipsed the 20-point mark in the Friars' game against Creighton on Jan. 17. The last time two Friars scored 20-points in the same BIG EAST game dates back to Jan. 24, 2024 against Seton Hall. Grace Efosa scored 29 points and Marta Morales Romero added 26 in a 82-76 victory in overtime. Additionally, the last time two Friars scored 20-points in a BIG EAST game of regulation length was on Jan. 27, 2017 in a 66-64 win over Marquette. Jovana Nogic scored 27 points and Sarah Beal chipped in 25.

TENEISIA BROWN NETS FIRST 20+ POINT GAME AS A FRIAR... Teneisia Brown eclipsed the 20-point plateau for the first time as a Friar on Feb. 4 at Marquette. She scored 24 points on 11-21 shooting from the field. Brown is the first Friar to score 20+ points off the bench since Nariah Scott tallied 20 points vs. Georgetown on Feb. 21, 2023. Prior to arriving at Providence, Brown recorded 20+ points in 10 games.

TOUGH ON THE GLASS... Teneisia Brown and Sabou Gueye are tied for the team lead and rank ninth in the BIG EAST in rebounding - each averaging 6.0 rebounds per game. Through 27 games, Brown has paced the team in scoring six times and Gueye has led the team 13 times. Brown has hauled in a season-best 14 rebounds in two games vs. Central Connecticut (Nov. 10) and Bryant (Nov. 30). Her career high in BIG EAST Conference play for rebounding is 10 (vs. St. John's, 12/7/25). Gueye has hauled in double digit boards three times, including a career-high 12 boards on two occasions vs. Boston College (Nov. 15) and Xavier (Dec. 4). She also grabbed 11 boards against Seton Hall on Jan. 8. Gueye leads the Friars in rebounding during BIG EAST regular-season play (6.6 rpg).

TENEISIA BROWN RANKS 18TH AMONG ACTIVE NCAA DIVISION I PLAYERS CAREER REBOUND... Teneisia Brown eclipsed 900 career rebounds in the Friars' game against St. John's on Jan. 27. In 129 career games, Brown has hauled in 924 boards for an average of 7.2 rebounds per game. Brown ranks 18th among active NCAA Division I players in career rebounds.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE TROUBLE... Sabou Gueye and Teneisia Brown are tied for the team lead in double-doubles, with two each. Gueye tallied 16 points and 12 rebounds vs. Boston College (Nov. 15) and 16 points and 12 rebounds vs. Xavier (Dec. 4). Brown recorded 12 points and 14 rebounds against Central Connecticut (Nov. 10) and 11 points and 10 boards vs. St. John's (Dec. 7). 

DOUBLE DIGITS... Sabou Gueye leads the Friars in double-digit scoring games (20) and 20-point games (seven). Nine other players on the roster have reached double figures, including Teneisia Brown (15), Orlagh Gormley (nine), Payton Dunbar (eight), Ashley Dinges (four), Sophi Hall (four), Nalani Kaysia (one), Princess Moody (one), Riley Hamburger (one), Sami Mancini (one) and Audrey Shields (one). 

FRIARS ARE 3-11 WHEN OUT-REBOUNDED BY OPPONENT... The Friars are 3-11 this season when they record fewer rebounds than their opponent, including a 3-10 mark in BIG EAST play. The Friars recorded their three victories of the season when being out-rebounded on Jan. 4 at DePaul, Jan. 17 vs. Creighton and Feb. 14 at Georgetown. When the Friars win the battle of the boards, the team has posted a 8-3 mark on the season.

TENEISIA BROWN INCHING CLOSER TO 1,500 CAREER POINTS... Graduate transfer Teneisia Brown is inching closer to the 1,500-career points milestone. Brown arrived at Providence for her final season after stops at Merrimack (2020-22) and Fairleigh Dickinson (2023-25). She averaged double figures in the scoring column during each of her last three seasons of college basketball and currently ranks second on the team in scoring for the Friars through 27 games (10.1 ppg). Brown has a career scoring total of 1,460 points heading into Wednesday's game against DePaul.  

SOPHI HALL PERFECT EN ROUTE TO A CAREER-BEST 18 POINTS... Junior Sophi Hall played 13 minutes off the bench in the Friars' match-up against Yale (Nov. 21) and recorded a career-high 18 points. Sixteen of her 18 points came in the second half. She was perfect from the field (5-5), including a 3-3 showing from beyond the arc. She also was 5-5 from the foul line.

BIG EAST PRESEASON POLL... The Friars were picked to finish 10th in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll, released at the league's annual media day on Oct. 21 at Madison Square Garden. Last season, Providence completed the year with a 13-19 overall record and claimed a seventh-place finish in the regular-season standings with a 6-12 conference record. 

WHAT'S NEXT... The Friars will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 22 against No. 1/1 UConn at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn. Tipoff is slated for 12:00 p.m. and the game will be televised on FS1.
