Friars will host the Golden Eagles on Sunday, March 1 at 5:30 p.m. on Peacock.

FRIARS SET TO HOST MARQUETTE IN REGULAR-SEASON FINALE... The Friars will host Marquette in the 2025-26 regular-season finale on Sunday, March 1 at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on Peacock. 

PREGAME CEREMONY... Providence College will honor four players during a pregame ceremony, who will be completing their collegiate eligibility at season's end. Each of the four players have spent one season at Providence College and include Sabou Gueye, Teneisia Brown, Nalani Kaysia and Eseosa Imafidon.

FRIARS VS. GOLDEN EAGLES ALL-TIME... Providence and Marquette have met 34 times during the history of the two programs. The Golden Eagles lead the series, 29-5, including victories in each of the last 17 games. 

LAST TIME PROVIDENCE DEFEATED MARQUETTE... The Friars last defeated the Golden Eagles on Jan. 27, 2017. On that day, Providence picked up a 66-64 victory at Alumni Hall. 

FRIARS SECURE NO. 7 SEED IN BIG EAST TOURNAMENT... The Friars have secured the No. 7 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament for the second-consecutive season ahead of its final regular-season game vs. Marquette. The Friars were picked to finish 10th in the BIG EAST in the preseason coaches' poll, released in October at the league's annual media day. Providence will begin tournament play on Friday, March 6 in the first round and will face the No. 10 seed, which has not yet been finalized. The winner of the first round game between the No. 7 / No. 10 seed will advance to the quarterfinals to face No. 2 seed Villanova on Saturday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. The BIG EAST Tournament will be held at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

14 AND 7... Heading into Sunday's game, the Friars' 14 wins overall and seven victories in BIG EAST play are the most since 2018-19. That year, Providence finished the year 19-16 overall and 8-10 in BIG EAST play.

BUILDING BLOCKS... Under the direction of Head Coach Erin Batth, the Friars have recorded 6+ wins in BIG EAST play during each of her three seasons. Prior to her arrival in 2023-24, Providence claimed six-or-more wins in league play just five times since 2001-01.

HOME-SWEET-HOME... The Friars have recorded 11 of their 14 victories this season at home in Alumni Hall, including five of their seven BIG EAST wins. When playing away from home, the Friars have posted a 3-10 record [2-9 in true road games; 1-1 at a neutral site]. Providence's true road wins have come against DePaul (Jan. 4) and Georgetown (Feb. 14). 

FOUR-GAME WIN STREAK... The Friars recently recorded a four-game win streak in BIG EAST Conference play, which came to a halt at top-ranked UConn on Feb. 22. Providence posted wins over Xavier (66-50), Butler (73-64), Georgetown (59-54) and DePaul (66-60). The last time Providence won four-consecutive BIG EAST regular-season games dates back to the 1995-96 campaign. 

65+... Providence is 9-1 on the year when scoring 65+ points, including a 4-0 mark when scoring 70+. Providence suffered its only loss of the season when scoring 65-or-more points on Jan. 27 at Villanova (83-68). 

SABOU GUEYE PROVING TO BE ONE OF THE TOP PLAYERS IN BIG EAST... Grad transfer Sabou Gueye is a seven-time BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll selection this season. Through 30 games overall, she ranks sixth in the BIG EAST in scoring (14.9 ppg), 10th in rebounding (5.9 rpg), third in field-goal percentage (.491), 11th in steals (1.8 spg) and 14th in blocked shots (0.83 bpg). In BIG EAST Conference regular-season action, she ranks fourth in scoring (15.6 ppg), seventh in rebounding (6.4 rpg), third in field-goal percentage (.486), tied for ninth in steals (1.9 spg), tied for 12th in blocked shots (0.79 bpg), fifth in offensive rebounding (2.21 orpg), ninth in defensive boards (4.16 drpg).

FLOOR GENERAL... Sophomore Orlagh Gormley has returned to the court as the Friars' floor general after sitting out the final 22 games of her freshman campaign with an injury. She's impacting both ends of the floor, leading the team in assists (3.9 apg) and steals (2.4 spg), while contributing 8.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Gormley has recorded 3+ assists in 24 of the 29 games she has played, including 10 games with five-or-more assists. She has dished 5+ assists in six of the 17 league games she has played in and ranks seventh among BIG EAST players in assists per game during conference play (3.78 apg), fifth in assist turnover ratio (1.70) and fourth in steals (2,72 spg).

100+ ASSISTS IN A SINGLE SEASON... Orlagh Gormley has dished 112 assists this season (3.9 apg). She is just the sixth Friar in the last 25 years to record 100+ assists in a single season and the six players have combined to do it eight times. In the last 10 years, only Janai Crooms has achieved the feat.

ON THE DEFENSIVE... Orlagh Gormley has collected 69 steals this season (with one regular-season game remaining), which marks the most by a Friar in a single-season since 2012-13. That year, Symone Roberts recorded 98 thefts. Additionally, Gormley's 69 steals are the third most by a sophomore in program history. She has picked up 3+ steals in 11 games this season, including a career-high nine vs. DePaul.

TENEISIA BROWN INCHING CLOSER TO 1,500 CAREER POINTS... Graduate transfer Teneisia Brown is inching closer to the 1,500-career points milestone. Brown arrived at Providence for her final season after stops at Merrimack (2020-22) and Fairleigh Dickinson (2023-25). She averaged double figures in the scoring column during each of her last three seasons of college basketball and currently ranks second on the team in scoring for the Friars through 30 games (10.0 ppg). Brown has a career scoring total of 1,486 points heading into Sunday's game against Marquette and needs 14 points to reach the milestone.

BEYOND THE ARC... Payton Dunbar has hit a team-best 48 three-pointers this season (1.6 per game), with a minimum of two games left on the schedule (one regular-season game; minimum one BIG EAST Tournament game). She is tied for 20th in program history for three-point field goals in a single-season. The single-season record is 93, set by Jovana Nogic in 2018-19.

20-POINT GAMES... Sabou Gueye scored a career-high 29 points against Xavier on Feb. 8. It marked her seventh 20-point game of the season, which ranks first on the team and tied for fifth in the BIG EAST. Gueye recorded just two 20-point games in the last three seasons. Five of Gueye's 20-point games have come during BIG EAST play. Three other players on the roster have scored 20 points: Payton Dunbar 22 vs. Boston College, Orlagh Gormley 21 vs. Creighton and Teneisia Brown tallied 24 points vs. Marquette.

TENEISIA BROWN RANKS 19TH AMONG ACTIVE NCAA DIVISION I PLAYERS CAREER REBOUND... Teneisia Brown eclipsed 900 career rebounds in the Friars' game against St. John's on Jan. 27. In 132 career games, Brown has hauled in 942 boards for an average of 7.1 rebounds per game. Brown ranks 19th among active NCAA Division I players in career rebounds. This season, Brown is averaging a team-best 6.0 boards per game, which ranks ninth in the BIG EAST.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE TROUBLE... Teneisia Brown recorded her team-best third double-double on Feb. 18 vs. DePaul. She finished the game with 14 points and 12 boards. Two of her three double-doubles have come during BIG EAST play. Brown also posted double-doubles against Central Connecticut (12 pts/14 rebs) and St. John's (11 pts/10 rebs). Sabou Gueye is second on the team in double-doubles. Gueye tallied 16 points and 12 rebounds vs. Boston College and 16 points and 12 rebounds vs. Xavier. 

TENEISIA BROWN NETS FIRST 20+ POINT GAME AS A FRIAR... Teneisia Brown eclipsed the 20-point plateau for the first time as a Friar on Feb. 4 at Marquette. She scored 24 points on 11-21 shooting from the field. Brown is the first Friar to score 20+ points off the bench since Nariah Scott tallied 20 points vs. Georgetown on Feb. 21, 2023. Prior to arriving at Providence, Brown recorded 20+ points in 10 games.

20/20... Sabou Gueye (22 points) and Orlagh Gormley (21 points) each eclipsed the 20-point mark in the Friars' first meeting against Creighton on Jan. 17. The last time two Friars scored 20-points in the same BIG EAST game dates back to Jan. 24, 2024 against Seton Hall. Grace Efosa scored 29 points and Marta Morales Romero added 26 in a 82-76 victory in overtime. Additionally, the last time two Friars scored 20-points in a BIG EAST game of regulation length was on Jan. 27, 2017 in a 66-64 win over Marquette. Jovana Nogic scored 27 points and Sarah Beal chipped in 25.

DOUBLE DIGITS... Sabou Gueye leads the Friars in double-digit scoring games (22) and 20-point games (seven). Nine other players on the roster have reached double figures, including Teneisia Brown (17), Orlagh Gormley (10), Payton Dunbar (nine), Ashley Dinges (four), Sophi Hall (four), Princess Moody (two), Nalani Kaysia (one), Riley Hamburger (one), Sami Mancini (one) and Audrey Shields (one). 

SABOU GUEYE NAMED TO BIG EAST WEEKLY HONOR ROLL FOR A SEVENTH TIME... Sabou Gueye was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Feb. 16.  It marked her seventh appearance of the season on the league's weekly awards list. The previous week, Gueye paced the Friars with 18.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week. She also added 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game while shooting 50-percent from the field (13-26) and 91-percent from the foul line (10-11). She tallied 19 points, eight boards, two assists and two blocks against Butler on Feb. 11. She closed the week with 17 points, seven rebounds and two assists at Georgetown. She scored 11 of her 17 points in a pivotal second half to rally the Friars from a seven-point halftime deficit.

FRIARS POST LARGEST COMEBACK VICTORY SINCE 2017... The Friars overcame a 19-point deficit to defeat DePaul, 69-59, on Jan. 4 in Chicago, Ill. It marks the largest comeback victory since Nov. 11, 2017, when Providence rallied from a 20-point deficit to defeat Northeastern, 98-95, in overtime.

LARGEST COMEBACK IN BIG EAST PLAY SINCE 2013... The Friars overcame a 19-point deficit to defeat DePaul, 69-59, on Jan. 4. It marks the largest comeback win in BIG EAST play since Jan. 23, 2013. On that day, the Friars rallied from a 21-point deficit to defeat Villanova, 65-60, in overtime.

MOST STEALS BY A FRIAR IN A SINGLE GAME SINCE 2008-09 SEASON... Sophomore Orlagh Gormley recorded a career-high nine steals in the Friars' game against DePaul (Jan. 4). Her nine steals are the most by a Friar since Sarah Beal collected 10 against Bryant on Dec. 12, 2009. 

SOPHI HALL PERFECT EN ROUTE TO A CAREER-BEST 18 POINTS... Junior Sophi Hall played 13 minutes off the bench in the Friars' match-up against Yale (Nov. 21) and recorded a career-high 18 points. Sixteen of her 18 points came in the second half. She was perfect from the field (5-5), including a 3-3 showing from beyond the arc. She also was 5-5 from the foul line.

FINAL EPISODE OF THE ERIN BATTH RADIO SHOW... The final episode of the Erin Batth Radio Show which was set to air on Thursday, March 5 has been postponed due to scheduling / recording conflicts. A new date will be released when it is finalized. BIG EAST PRESEASON POLL... The Friars were picked to finish 10th in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll, released at the league's annual media day on Oct. 21 at Madison Square Garden. Last season, Providence completed the year with a 13-19 overall record and claimed a seventh-place finish in the regular-season standings with a 6-12 conference record. Heading into Sunday's game vs. UConn, the Friars are alone in seventh place with a 7-10 overall record.

WHAT'S NEXT... The Friars will play in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament on Friday, March 6 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Providence will enter the tournament as the No. 7 seed and tipoff at 1:30 p.m. against the No. 10 seed on Peacock. The Friars' opponent will be determined on the final day of regular-season play.
