PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College Field Hockey team has announced a $30,000 fundraising campaign to help send the current team on a European Tour during spring break to Germany and Holland. The program's last trip abroad was in 2006, when it participated in a tour to Argentina.

The auction will run from October 26, 2014 to November 10, 2014, with proceeds going to Providence College Field Hockey's European Tour (March 2015). Auction items range from exotic vacation getaways to donated items guaranteed to delight and surprise.

"This will be a great experience for our players," Head Coach Diane Madl said. "They will be able to grow as a team. We also expect that it will be a tremendous educational experience as they will be visiting a foreign country with so much history and culture."

Goals of the trip:
Help develop our players' knowledge and skills while shaping their attitudes of a worldview, which can help them prepare for whatever path they decide to follow and be a part of after graduation.

Create a hands-on understanding of various international cultures.

Play against some of the best field hockey talent internationally.
