COMMERCE, Texas-Â The Providence College volleyball team (1-2) was defeated by University of Arkansas at Little Rock (2-1) on Saturday, Aug. 30 in Commerce, Texas, in the team's final match of the Lion Invitational.

FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS:Â Little Rock won the first set, 25-23.
- The two teams traded points early, tying the set at 10-10.
- Little Rock went on an 8-0 run and forced two Providence timeouts (18-10).
- The Friars responded with an 8-2 run to narrow the gap to 20-18.
- The Trojans maintained their lead and won the set, 25-23.
SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS:Â Providence earned a 25-15 victory in the second set.
- Providence came out strong with a 7-3 lead.
- The Friars extended their lead to 15-10 after a kill by sophomore Sophia Adkins (Cincinnati, Ohio).
- Sophomore Audrey Kocon (Shoreview, Minn.) delivered an ace to advance the lead to 21-12.
- Adkins ended the set with a kill to secure the 25-15 win.
THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS:Â The Trojans took the third set, 25-16.
- The Friars and Trojans traded points early, tying the set at 7-7.
- Little Rock went on a 7-1 run to take a 14-8 lead, forcing a Providence timeout.
- The Trojans extended their lead to 19-11, prompting a second Friar timeout.
- Little Rock stayed ahead to take the set, 25-16.
FOURTH SET HIGHLIGHTS:Â Providence won the fourth set, 26-24.
- The teams went back-and-forth early, tying the set at 10-10.
- Little Rock pulled ahead to take a 15-13 lead.
- Providence responded to tie the set at 16-16.
- The Trojans and Friars battled to a 21-21 tie.
- An ace by redshirt senior Hadley Pride (Nashville, Tenn.) gave Providence a 23-21 advantage.
- Little Rock answered with back-to-back kills to tie the set at 23-23, forcing a Providence timeout.
- Freshman Kaia Easterbrook (Canton, Ga.) sealed the set with a kill to win 26-24.
FIFTH SET HIGHLIGHTS:Â Little Rock took the fifth set, 16-14, and won the match, 3-2.
- The teams went back-and-forth early, tying the set at 7-7.
- Providence called a timeout after Little Rock took a 9-7 lead.
- The Friars responded with a 5-1 run to go up 12-10, forcing a Trojan timeout.
- Little Rock fought back to tie the set at 13-13.
- The Trojans closed out the set 16-14 to win the match, 3-2.
MATCH NOTES:
- Kocon recorded her first career triple-double, with 14 kills, 28 assists, and 11 digs.
- Easterbrook hit .440 and had a career-high 13 kills.
- Pride led the defense with 22 digs.
- The Friars notched 65 kills, 74 digs, 11 aces, and 10 blocks.

WHAT'S NEXT:Â The Friars will return home to Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. to host the Rhode Island Challenge.
