Carly van Benten, Lily Procaccianti and Ava Porter claim All-BIG EAST Second Team accolades.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Four Providence College field hockey players earned BIG EAST post-season honors on Thursday, Nov. 5. Senior Bo Martina was named Co-Midfielder of the Year for a second-consecutive season and was featured on the All-BIG EAST First Team for a third time. Senior forwards Carly van Benten and Lily Procaccianti and sophomore goalkeeper Ava Porter were named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.

Martina is just the second player in program history to earn multiple major post-season awards from the BIG EAST as a two-time Co-Midfielder of the Year. The only other player to earn multiple major awards for the Friars was Rachel Chamberlain '10, who claimed BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year in 2006 and 2007. Additionally, Martina became the third player in program history to be named to the All-BIG EAST First Team on three occasions (2024, 2025 and 2026). Nellie Poulin '10 (2007, 2008, 2009) and Providence College Hall of Famer Paula Wagoner '98 (1995, 1996, 1997) also claimed First-Team accolades three times. Martina finished third on the team in scoring with 13 points on five goals and three assists. Through four seasons with the Friars, Martina ranks in a tie for 23rd all-time in career scoring with 59 points on 21 goals and 17 assists. Her 21 goals are tied for 28th all-time at Providence and she is ranked 18th all-time in career assists.

Van Benten, who claimed All-BIG EAST Second Team honors for the second-straight season, led the Friars in scoring with 20 points on 10 goals. She was tied for fourth in the BIG EAST in goals and her 20 points ranked 11th in the league. Both of her offensive totals marked single-season career highs. Five of Van Benten's goals were game-winners, which was the second-highest total among BIG EAST players. She also scored in five-straight games during one stretch of the season. The five-game scoring streak was a personal best.

Procaccianti was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team, marking the first post-season recognition of her career. She finished second on the team in scoring with 19 points on eight goals and three assists. She ranked 11th in the BIG EAST in goals and points and 12th in points per game (1.12). Procaccianti tallied her first career hat trick on September 4 against New Haven and finished the game with a career-best six points. She posted two multi-goal games. During a span of the last two seasons, Procaccianti recorded an impressive 40 points on 18 goals and four assists. She currently ranks 22nd in program history in career goals (22).

Porter earned All-BIG EAST accolades for the first time in her career as a member of the Second Team and is the sixth goalkeeper in program history to earn postseason honors from the league. She played 837 minutes in the cage this season and posted a 1.43 goals against average and a 0.697 save percentage. She ranked second among BIG EAST goalies in goals against average, second in shutouts and fourth in save percentage. Porter compiled a 7-5 record on the year, including a career-best four shut-out victories. She recorded a season-high eight saves against UConn, during a match that was eventually decided in a shootout, after the Huskies netted the game-tying goal with no time remaining in regulation on a corner.
