PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 7/6 Providence College men's hockey team scored four unanswered goals, including three in the third period to defeat Northeastern, 4-1, on Saturday night (Feb. 14) at Schneider Arena.

NOTES
- Northeastern scored the lone goal of the first period as Vinny Borgesi converted on the power play to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.
- Jonathan Fauchon tied the game at 18:36 of the second period, firing a wrist shot pas Zacher for his eighth goal of the season. Andrew Centrella earned the assist on the play.
- Providence outshot Northeastern by a 22-3 margin in the second period.
- The teams battled through a tight-checking third period until Donovan McCoy unloaded a one-timer from the point over the glove of Zacher to give the Friars the lead with 3:12 remaining. The goal was McCoy's third of the season assisted by Julius Sumpf and Graham Gamache.
- Tanner Adams fired his 10th goal of the year into an empty net to extend the lead to 3-1.
- Will Elger also added an empty-net goal, his seventh tally of the year to close out the scoring.
- Goaltender Michael Simpson earned the win in his first NCAA start, stopping 17-of-18 shots he faced.
- Head Coach Nate Leaman earned his 299th career win at Providence.
