Nate Leaman recorded his 300th win at Providence on Friday.

BURLINGTON, Vt. – The No. 7 Providence College men's hockey team earned a 5-2 victory over Vermont on Friday (Feb. 20) at Gutterson Fieldhouse. With the win, Head Coach Nate Leaman recorded his 300th victory at Providence College.

NOTES

- Vermont got on the board first at the 4:12 mark of the opening period as Colin Kessler split the Friar defense and beat Parsons to the glove side.

- John Mustard netted his team-high 13th goal of the season with a power-play strike at 9:04 of the first period on assists from Julius Sumpf and Will Elger.

- Elger gave the Friars a 2-1 lead with a shorthanded tally at 14:55, marking the Friars' third shorthanded goal of the season.

- Jonathan Fauchon connected with Roger McQueen with a highlight-reel centering pass to open the second period scoring at 1:11. McQueen became the fourth Friar to hit double-digits in goals this season.

- Kale McCallum extended the Providence lead to 4-1 at 6:55 with his fifth goal of the season.

- Vermont responded with a goal from Sebastian Tornqvist to cut the Friar lead to 4-2.

- Tanner Adams sealed the game late in the third with an empty-net goal, his 11th goal of the season to finished off the scoring.

- Jack Parsons finished the night with 25 saves to improve to 11-3-0 this season.

- Providence improves to 11-3-1 on the road this season and has won 11 of its last 12 games.

- The Friars posted their ninth 20-win season under Nate Leaman.
