- The No. 7/6 Providence College men's hockey team scored four unanswered goals, including three in the third period to defeat Northeastern, 4-1, on Saturday night (Feb. 14) at Schneider Arena.
- Northeastern scored the lone goal of the first period as Vinny Borgesi converted on the power play to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.

Jonathan Fauchon tied the game at 18:36 of the second period, firing a wrist shot pas Zacher for his eighth goal of the season.
Andrew Centrella earned the assist on the play.
- Providence outshot Northeastern by a 22-3 margin in the second period.
- The teams battled through a tight-checking third period until
Donovan McCoy unloaded a one-timer from the point over the glove of Zacher to give the Friars the lead with 3:12 remaining. The goal was McCoy's third of the season assisted by

Scouting the Catamounts:
- Vermont enters Saturday night's contest at 12-17-0 (7-12-0 HEA) after suffering a two-game home sweep against UMass Lowell last weekend. The Catamounts have dropped three in a row overall.
- The Catamounts are paced by Colin Kessler (5-14-19), Sebastian Tornqvist (4-8-12) and Jens Richards (5-6-11),
- In goal, freshman Aidan Wright has posted a 11-14-0 record with a 2.91 GAA and .900 save percentage in 26 games played.
- In his third season in Burlington, Head Coach Steve Wiedler has posted a 36-57-6 record.

Series History vs. Vermont (38-28-13, .563)
- Going into Friday's contest, the Friars are riding a 17-game unbeaten streak (12-0-5) against the Catamounts dating back to the 2018-19 season. Vermont's last victory over the Friars came on Feb. 1, 2019, where the Catamounts topped Providence 3-1 at Schneider Arena.
- The Friars earned overtime and shootout wins against the Catamounts in Burlington last season. Providence earned a 6-1 win at Schneider Arena back on Feb. 7 to kick off the three-game seasons series against the Catamounts.
- The Friars are 19-15-4 all-time on the road at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

Roger McQueen Nominated For The 2026 Hobey Baker Award
Providence College freshman
Roger McQueen was named as the Friars' nominee for the 2026 Hobey Baker Award. The 10th overall pick of the 2025 NHL Draft of the Anaheim Ducks leads Providence in scoring this season with 24 points on nine goals and 15 assists. He has totaled six multi-point games this season, including a career-high three points on two goals and one assist against Merrimack on Nov. 14. In Hockey East games, McQueen has totaled seven goals and nine assists in 19 games with a +10 rating. He ranks third in Hockey East with 285 faceoff wins.

Parsons, Adams Earn Weekly Hockey East Honors

Tanner Adams (Northport, N.Y.) was named Boston Children's Hospital Hockey East Player of the Week while goaltender
Jack Parsons (Cortland, N.Y.) earned Stop it Goaltending Hockey East Goaltender of the Week honors on Monday (Feb. 9). Adams earns his second-career weekly recognition and Parsons recorded his third weekly honor in the last month.

Adams registered a career-high four points on a goal and three assists in the Friars' 6-1 win at New Hampshire on Feb. 6, following up with an assist in the Feb. 7 6-1 win over Vermont. He has posted 11 points (5g, 6a) over his last eight games with a +7 rating.

Jack Parsons Earns National and Hockey East Goaltender of the Month Honors
Providence College freshman goaltender
Jack Parsons (Cortland, N.Y.) was named HCA National Rookie of the Month and Stop It Goaltending Hockey East Goaltender of the Month for January. Parsons went a perfect 7-0-0, tied for the most wins of among all NCAA goaltenders in January, after stepping in the Friars net due to injury to Philip Svedebäck. He posted two shutouts and has Providence riding a nine-game winning streak, the current longest streak in the nation. Parsons registered a 1.87 GAA and .931 save percentage in eight games during the month of January. He is the first Friar rookie to earn National Monthly honors since Jon Gillies in 2013.

Former Friar Nick Saracino '16 Named To Italy's Roster For 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics
Former Providence College men's hockey national champion Nick Saracino '16 (St. Louis, Mo.) was named to Italy's roster for the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Games set to run from Feb. 5-19. Saracino becomes the second men's hockey player to participate in the Olympics for Italy, joining Gates Orlando (1992, 1994, 1998). Saracino appeared in three games for Italy, including the Qualification Round against Switzerland.

Goaltender Michael Simpson Added To The Roster; Earns First NCAA Win
Michael Simpson joins the Friars after spending this season with the Savannah Ghost Pirates of the ECHL. With Savannah, Simpson recorded a 2.63 GAA and .909 save percentage in 10 games played. He participated in training camp with the Florida Panthers prior to the start of this season. In 2024-25, he appeared in a total of 16 games split between Belleville (AHL) and Orlando (ECHL). Simpson stopped 17-of-18 shots to earn his first NCAA win against Northeastern on Feb. 14.

The two-time OHL Champion won titles with the Peterborough Petes in 2022-23, alongside current Friar
Donovan McCoy, and a championship the following season with the London Knights in 2023-24. He earned the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award as OHL Playoff MVP with Peterborough in 2023 after turning in a pair of 50-save performances during the OHL Championship Series. He guided London to an OHL title and a runner-up finish in the Memorial Cup in 2024, winning the Happ Emms Memorial Trophy as the Most Outstanding Goaltender of the Memorial Cup. Simpson was a two-time OHL All-Star Team selection in 2023 (Third Team) and 2024 (Second Team).

Friars By The Numbers
The Friars are the ninth tallest roster in the NCAA (6'1"), seventh youngest (21.1 years). Providence is just one of only three programs to have one senior on their roster. The Friars boasted the sixth-most NHL players that appeared in games during the 2024-25 season with 14 total.

The Saskatchewan Connection
Three members of this year's roster hail from Saskatchewan -
Hudson Malinoski,
Roger McQueen and
Quinn Mantei. Malinoski and McQueen are childhood friends and played together with the Saskatoon Blazers AAA squad in 2021-22. Mantei and McQueen were teammates with the Brandon Wheat Kings from 2022-25.
