Men's Lacrosse Defeated by Manhattan, 9-7

RIVERDALE, N.Y. -- Ken Rose scored a game-high three goals to lead Manhattan to a 9-7 win against Providence College in men's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference lacrosse action on Saturday, April 10 in Riverdale, N.Y.

Manhattan's Wayne Sitar and Rose each scored in the first quarter to give the Jaspers a 2-0 lead after 15 minutes of action. The first quarter would prove to be the difference in the game as each team netted seven goals in final 45 minutes of play.

Jeff Merklinger and Ken Leahy led the offense for the Friars with two goals each.

With the win, Manhattan raised its record to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in MAAC action, while Providence fell to 0-8 overall and 0-4 in league play.

The Friars will return to action on Monday, April 12 against Siena at Loudonville, N.Y. at 4:00 p.m.
