Award recognizes leadership, support, sportsmanship and community involvement.
Providence College senior midfielder Jackson Coutu has been selected as a member of the inaugural Liam Gleason Humanitarian Award class. He is one of 77 Division I men's lacrosse student-athletes honored, alongside Kennedy Gleason, daughter of Coach Liam Gleason.
Established in January 2026 by Liam's family, former coaches, and close friends, the Liam Gleason Humanitarian Award recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional leadership, unwavering support for teammates and staff, strong sportsmanship, and impactful community involvement.
"Jackson remained engaged with our program on a daily basis despite a season-ending injury," Head Coach Bobby Benson said. "He played an integral role for our team with his exceptional support and leadership and was well-respected by his teammates. Jackson also found ways to stay involved that helped the staff out tremendously, as he took on responsibility with our video and scouting technology. Jackson's commitment to our program and helping us to succeed on and off the field is something we are grateful for."
Each NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse program selected a student-athlete to receive the award at the conclusion of the 2026 season. Determined by a vote of players, coaches, and staff, the honor is presented to the individual who best represents the teammate others strive to emulate.
