PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A trio of Providence College men's lacrosse players were among the list of 2026 NEILA All-New England selections released on May 20. Junior midfielder

Richie Joseph (Longmeadow, Mass.) and senior long-stick midfielder
Ian Olenik (Windham, N.H.) were honored on the Second Team.
Chambers earned All-New England accolades for the second-straight season, having been recognized as a Second Team pick in 2025. He started all 17 games this season and led the team with 71 points on 35 goals and 36 assists. The junior midfielder set the Providence College all-time single-season points record (71). The previous record of 66 was set by
Ryan Bell '25 in back-to-back seasons (2024 and 2025). Chambers ranks 24th all-time in career scoring at Providence College with 111 points (60 goals / 51 assists). Additionally, his 51 assists are tied for 14th all-time in program history. Chambers scored five-or-more points seven times this season, including a nine-point outing versus Bryant (4/14) and 10-point outings against Merrimack (3/2) and Air Force (3/21). He concluded the season ranked second in the BIG EAST in assists per game (2.12), third in points per game (4.18) and inside the top 20 nationally in NCAA Division I in both categories. Chambers led Providence to a No. 2-seed in the BIG EAST Tournament, marking Providence's highest conference tournament seed since the BIG EAST began sponsoring lacrosse in 2010. He also led Providence to its second appearance in the BIG EAST Championship game, scoring six points on two goals and four assists in the tournament. The midfielder was a unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST First Team and was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team. Most recently, he was named USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American on May 7. Chambers also was honored as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week (2/9), a four-time BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll pick (3/9, 3/23, 4/13, 4/27), USA Lacrosse Player of the Week (2/10), Inside Lacrosse AXIA Time Player of the Week (2/10), USILA Team of the Week on (4/28) and Preseason All-BIG EAST.
Joseph nabbed All-Region honors for the first time in his career. He most recently claimed All-BIG EAST First-Team recognition and became the fourth player in program history to be named to the All-BIG EAST First Team in multiple seasons (2025, 2026). Joseph is a three-time All-BIG EAST selection overall, having earned Second Team honors in 2024. This season, Joseph finished second on the team in scoring with 49 points. He tallied a team-best 39 goals and added 10 assists. He paced the Friars in game-winning goals (four) and man-down goals (one), while also recording two man-up goals. Joseph's man-down goal came during the Friars' BIG EAST Semifinal victory over Villanova on April 30. Joseph ranks fifth all-time in career scoring at Providence College with 171 career-points (129 goals / 42 assists). Additionally, is 129 goals rank second all-time in program history. He is one of only seven players to record 100+ goals at Providence all-time. This season he recorded seven hat-tricks, including a season-high six goals against St. John's (4/24). Joseph finished the year ranked third in the BIG EAST in goals per game (2.64) and fifth in points per game (3.43). He earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on April 27 and was featured on the Honor Roll on April 20. He also earned BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Preseason All-BIG EAST and NEILA Preseason Watchlist Honors.
Olenik joined Chambers and Joseph as an All-BIG EAST First-Team pick this season and earned All-New England recognition for the first time in his career. He played in all 17 games for the Friars and led the team in caused turnovers (27) and ranked second in ground balls (45). His 23 caused turnovers rank third among BIG EAST players. The senior long-stick midfielder has recorded three-or-more caused turnovers in three games this season, including a career-high six caused turnovers against Bryant (Feb. 6). Olenik has also tallied three-or-more ground balls in nine games this season, including a career-best six ground balls against Villanova (4/11). He has added seven points on three goals and four assists. During the season, Olenik was a two-time BIG EAST Specialist of the Week selection (2/9, 4/13) and was honored on the USILA Team of the Week on April 13.
Providence College finished the season with an 8-9 overall record and qualified for the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Tournament for the fourth-consecutive season, marking the longest stretch of appearances for the program since the league began sponsoring lacrosse in 2010. The second-seeded Friars advanced to the BIG EAST Championship Game for just the second time in program history after a thrilling, 14-7, victory over No. 3 seed Villanova in the Semifinals on April 30.
