FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield University defeated the Providence College Friars, 18-9, on Thursday, April 9 in men's lacrosse action at Fairfield, Conn.
Providence and Fairfield were tied at 3-3 after 15 minutes of action. The Friars continued to be play tough against the Stags in the second quarter as the two teams entered halftime with Fairfield leading 8-7. However, Fairfield took control of the game over the last 30 minutes of the games as it outscored PC, 10-2.
PC junior goalkeeper Rob Chambers made 18 saves in the loss
With the win, Fairfield raised its record to 4-4 overall and 4-0 in MAAC action, while Providence dropped to 3-5 overall and 2-4 in league play.
PC returns to action on Wednesday, April 15 at Boston College at 7:00 p.m.
