PC Hires New Lax Coach

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Assistant Vice President for Athletics John Marinatto announced the appointment of Chris Burdick as head men's lacrosse coach, Kevin Cunningham as assistant women's hockey coach and John Rinaldo as strength and conditioning coach.

Burdick had been an assistant coach at Cornell University for the past two seasons. While at Cornell, he was responsible for the team's recruiting and was the defensive coordinator and goalie coach. He also has served as an assistant coach at UMass-Amherst, the University of Delaware and Notre Dame. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of Delaware.

Cunningham, who was an assistant coach at Brown last season, is a 1996 graduate of Connecticut College. At Brown, he worked with the team's goaltenders and assisted with recruiting. Prior to working at Brown, Cunningham was the head coach of the Connecticut College women's club hockey team.

Rinaldo served as an assistant strength coach at the University of Kentucky for three years while completing his undergraduate studies in Lexington, Ky. He also has worked as a strength and conditioning coach for Wildcat Strength Systems in Worcester Mass.
