Cancelled Event: Softball versus Tarleton State

Providence, R.I.- The Providence College softball team fell to 6-10 overall with a 1-0 loss in eight innings and a 4-1 loss at Boston University this afternoon.
In the first game against Terriers, the Friars had four hits, but were shut out by Boston's Robyn King. Gwyn Mangini led the PC offense with a double and a single, while Nicole Nelson and Jamie Servidone added a hit apiece. Robyn West took the loss, only giving up three hits to 29 batters faced.
In the second game, Melissa Peterson picked up her third loss on the mound, giving up three hits and two runs in three innings, while Heather Nathan pitched the last four, giving up seven hits and two runs.
Melissa Francz scored the Friars' sole run of the day off of Nelson's double in the fifth inning. Jami Servidone rounded out the offensive effort, going 2-for-3 in the second game.
Providence returns to action on Sunday, March 26, when they host Yale University for their 2000 home opener. The doubleheader is slated to start at 12:00 p.m.
