The Friars drop game one of the weekend series with the Bulldogs.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Providence College softball team (28-17, 17-5 BIG EAST) fell to the Butler University Bulldogs (23-18,14-8 BIG EAST), 4-3, on a walk off hit in the seventh inning.Â

GAME ONE NOTESÂ
• In the first inning, Zoe Krizan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) got the Friars on the board first when she singled through the right side, driving in Julia Renny (Syosset, N.Y.) while runners advanced to give Providence a 1-0 lead.Â
• In the third, Gabriella Lee (Belmont, Calif.) singled to the pitcher, bringing home Brianna De La Fuente (Metuchen, N.J.) as the Friars took a 2-1 advantage after Butler responded in the first inning.Â
• In the fourth, Krizan was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, forcing in Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) to retake the lead for Providence, 3-2.Â
• Butler responded by scoring a run in the fifth inning to tie it and then recorded a walk off hit in the seventh to secure the 4-3 victory. Â
• In the circle, Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.) got the start and pitched four complete innings. Grace Brooks (Meridan, Idaho) came in relief. Â
