Men's Lacrosse Falls To Hartford, 23-7

W. HARTFORD, Conn. -- Hartford senior Tracey Kelusky scored eight goals as the Hawks defeated Providence College, 23-7, in men's lacrosse action on Wednesday, March 29 in West Harford, Conn.

In a closely played first half, Hartford led 6-5 after 30 minutes of action. The Friars took a quick 2-0 lead on goals by Brian Walker and Chris Houston to start the game. Hartford battled back with three straight goals to take its first lead at 13:13 of the second quarter. Each team alternated scoring as the Hawks closed out the first half with the lead.

Unfortunately for the Friars, the second half was not very close. The Hawks' offense came out on fire. Kelusky scored his second goal of the game to open the scoring in the second half before Ken Leahy notched the Friars' sixth goal at 10:26 of the third quarter. After Leahy's goal, Hartford tallied 16 unanswered goals to earn the win. PC's Cameron Roller netted the final goal of the game with 36 seconds remaining in the contest.

With the victory, Hartford improved to 6-0 overall, while Providence fell to 5-2.

The Friars will return to action on Saturday, April 1 against Mount St. Mary's at PC's Glay Field at 1:00 p.m.
