Providence, R.I.- The Providence College softball team split their series this season with Seton Hall University, dropping game one, 4-1, while winning game two, 2-1.

In game one, Seton Hall scored three runs in the first inning, with Ranae Bart crossing home plate first on a throwing error. Marlena Kotynski then hit a RBI single to bring in Kim Jackson. Vickie Lamb then stole home to put the Pirates up, 3-0.

PC's Amber Carr (Ventura, Calif.) then scored the Friars' sole run with a home run over the left field wall in the second inning. Seton Hall then sealed the win in the fourth as Kerry Kirk had a sacrifice bunt to allow Amy Lynn Mellin to score.
