BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Providence College men's lacrosse team lost to Sacred Heart University 13-7 on Saturday, April 28 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action.

The Friars were paced by junior Chris Houston (Garden City, N.Y.) who scored four goals, followed by David Kole (Montclair, N.J.), Skip Dunphy (Manhasset, N.Y.) and Kyle Ojakian (Cheshire, Conn.) who netted one goal each. Jim Dooley (Maplewood, N.J.) was credited with two assists on the day. Dunphy and Ojakian tallied one assist apiece, as did Jon Meehan (Peabody, Mass.).

The game was tied 2-2 after the first quarter before Sacred Heart went on a 7-0 run leading into the halftime break, making the score 9-2.

John Farley (West Simsbury, Conn.) made 14 saves in goal for Providence and allowed all 13 Sacred Heart goals. Three Sacred Heart goaltenders combined for a total of nine saves on the day.

Providence (6-8, 4-4 MAAC) will play their final regular-season game at home on Glay Field, Tuesday, May 1 at 3:30 against Siena. A win on Tuesday, coupled with a St. Joseph's loss on Sunday, April 29 would send the Friars to the MAAC Championships on May 5-6 at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. If St. Joseph's wins on Sunday, they will earn the fourth and final playoff spot outright.
