PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College sophomore Andrew McMinn (Pittsburgh, Pa.) earned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Goaltender of the Week honors in men's lacrosse for the week ending Sunday, April 6.
McMinn led the Friars to a 2-1 overall record last week, including a 2-0 mark against MAAC opponents. In three games, he made 34 saves on 83 shots and allowed just 14 goals for a goals against average of 4.64 and a save percentage of .708. McMinn also leads the MAAC in save percentage (.671) and goals against average (6.92). He also ranks in the top-five among all Division I men's lacrosse players in save percentage and goals against average according to the latest NCAA statistics released on March 30.
Providence College holds a current overall record of 3-5, and remains as the only unbeaten team in the MAAC with a 3-0 mark. The Friars will return to action on Wednesday, April 9 against Holy Cross in a non-conference match-up in Worcester, Mass. at 7:00 p.m.
