Providence College Friars (3-7, 2-1 MAAC): The Providence College men's lacrosse team will host Siena College at PC's Glay Field on Saturday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m. The Friars earned their second Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) win with a, 6-5, overtime victory against St. Joseph's on Saturday, April 9. Providence enters Saturday's game against the Saints with a 3-7 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the MAAC. Senior Dan Giuntini (Floral Park, N.Y.) leads the team with 17 goals and three assists for 20 points. Giuntini became the 18th player in Providence College history to surpass the 100-point plateau in his career on March 26 against VMI in Lexington, Va. He currently has 81 goals and 25 assists for 106 career points. Senior Jonathon Hollister (Longmeadow, Mass.) is second on the team in scoring, with 17 points on 12 goals and five assists. Hollister is currently on a team-leading nine-game scoring streak. Sophomore Brendan Ryan (Chatham, N.J.) is third on the team in scoring with 10 points and leads the team with nine assists. As PC's primary goaltender, senior Andrew McMinn (Pittsburgh, Pa.) has registered a 0.585 save percentage and a 8.66 goals against average in 409 minutes of action. In eight games between the pipes, McMinn has allowed 59 goals and recorded 83 saves.
Saturday's match-up will mark the 19th all-time meetings between the two programs. The Friars lead the all-time series, 16-2. Head Coach Chris Burdick holds a perfect coaching recording versus Siena, 6-0, dating back to his first season with the Friars in 1999. In their last meeting, the Friars defeated the Saints, 15-1, in PC's highest point output of the 2004 season.
Siena College Saints (2-8): Siena enters Saturday's non-conference match-up against Providence with a 2-8 record. Juniors Matt Walsh and Greg Powell lead the Saints on offense. Walsh leads the team with 24 points on 13 goals and 11 assists, while Powell is second on the team with 19 points on eight goals and 11 assists. Sophomore David Jalette has played in every game for Siena and has a 11.02 goals against average and a .481 save percentage. In 517 minutes of action, Jalette has allowed 95 goals, and posted 88 saves.
