In the second game against St. John's on Saturday, April 22, she went 2-for-2 with a single and a home run.

Overall, Providence went 3-3, including two wins over Seton Hall and one win over St. John's. Bartholomew also is the second PC player to earn BIG EAST Player of the Week honors as she joins senior Elena Romero (Chula Vista, Calif.) who earned the award on March 27.

On the season, Bartholomew holds a .360 batting average including a team-leading 10 home runs and 37 RBIs. In the two-game sweep of Seton Hall on Sunday, April 23, Bartholomew passed current senior teammate Michelle Willette (Moorpark, Calif.) on PC's career home run list with her 26th. Bartholomew's 10 home runs also is the highest single-season total by a PC player since Cori Van Dusen `04 hit 10 in 2004. Currently, Bartholomew holds a 10-game hit streak in which she has batted .500 (18-for-36) with seven home runs and 16 RBIs.

With the sweep over the Pirates on Sunday, Providence softball improved to 26-14-1 on the season including a 9-7 mark in BIG EAST play. As of Tuesday, April 25, the Friars are in sixth-place out of 12 softball-playing schools in the BIG EAST. The top eight teams qualify for the BIG EAST Conference Tournament which will be held May 11-14 at the Belleview Softball Complex in South Bend, Ind. The Friars are attempting to return to the BIG EAST Conference Tournament for the first time since 1995.

PC softball has won its last three games, and returns to action on Wednesday, April 26 as it hosts former conference rival Boston College. The single-game contest is set for 4:00 p.m. at PC's Raymond Field.
