PROVIDENCE, R.I. -
The Providence College field hockey program is highlighting each of its current student-athletes in a segment entitled "Meet The Friars". Each student athlete answers a series of questions, allowing followers of the program to gain a closer perspective of the team and the student-athletes whom comprise the roster.
In this segment, we get to know Shannon Pustis. Shannon played just one game for the Friars during the 2010 season, but has battled back to form. She recently was named to the U.S. Field Hockey Junior Women's High Performance Training Squad for the Boston region.
1. Why did you decide to come to PC?
I liked how there was so much team chemistry. I also wanted to play Division I and be not too far from home. Providence is a nice small college but with big opportunities and other Division I sports.
2. If you could participate in any Olympic event, what would it be and why?
If I could participate in an Olympic even it would be ice-skating or gymnastics. Ice skating because I really enjoy ice-skating and have been skating since I was really little. And gymnastics because I wish I could do all those cool flips and tricks.
3. What is your favorite childhood game?
My favorite childhood game would have to be egg, also known as spud.
4. What is your favorite meal of the day? Why?
My favorite meal of the day would have to be lunch because it can be breakfast food and/or dinner food in one meal.
