Men's Lacrosse Announces 2015 Schedule

2014-15 Schedule
The Providence College men's lacrosse team released its schedule for the 2015 season on Tuesday, Oct. 7. The Friars' schedule features five BIG EAST Conference games. The Friars will launch their season with scrimmages at Massachusetts (Oct. 17th), at Yale (Feb. 1st) and at Harvard (Feb. 7th).

The Friars spring into the season with their first home game on Tuesday, Feb. 17th against Fairfield University, the first of eight home games that the team will tackle. The curtain closes on the home season with a BIG EAST game versus Villanova on Saturday, April 25.

In the 2015 season, the Friars are scheduled to battle in 9 non-conference games. The Friars will travel to Duke (Feb. 28th), UMass-Lowell (March 10th), Hofstra (March 14th) and Bryant (March 24th). Providence will host five non-conference games at home including Fairfield (Feb. 17th), Vermont (Feb. 21st), Boston (Feb. 24th), Sacred Heart (March 7th) and Brown (April 14th).

Kicking off the BIG EAST contests on Saturday, March 28 at St. John's, the Friars inaugurate the first of five this season. The Friars will host Georgetown (April 4th), Marquette (April 11th) and Villanova (April 25th). Providence will travel to St. John's (March 28th) and Denver (April 18th).

The Friars slate features three opponents that competed in the 2014 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament, including the 2014 National Champion, Duke. Bryant made it to quarterfinals, but was defeated by Maryland. Denver reached the NCAA Final Four where they fell to Duke. Duke earned the title of 2014 National Champions when it defeated Notre Dame (11-9).

Providence will play their home games at the Ray Treacy Track on the campus of Providence College. For updates regarding the men's lacrosse program please refer to Friars.com.
