PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

Providence College softball outfielder Nicole Lundstrom (Rehoboth, Mass.) was named Madness BIG EAST Softball Player of the Week today (April 7), as it was announced by College Sports Madness.

Lundstrom went 4-for-7 at the plate in three games against Bulter this past weekend. All four of her hits were homeruns. The right fielder led the team with a .571 batting average and six RBI, which helped the Friars claim two of three games in the series. She hit two home runs in PC's first game to give the Friars a 2-0 win. Lundstrom also hit a long ball in each game to complete the series (Games 2 and 3).

The Friars are back in action on April 11 for the first two games of a three-game series against St. John's in Jamaica, N.Y. The games are slated for 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
