PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College softball team was defeated by St. John's, 1-0, on Sunday, April 17 in Providence, R.I. With the loss, the Friars moved to 15-22 (2-9 BIG EAST), while St. John's improved to 21-18 (5-6 BIG EAST).
With the first six innings scoreless, St. John's got on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh with a single to send home the runner that was on third for the final score, 1-0.
Sophomore Christina Ramirez (Niceville, Fla.) pitched all seven innings, striking out four batters, and allowing just four runs. Junior Nicole Lundstrom (Rehoboth, Mass.) batted 2-for-3 on the day with a single and a double.
The Friars will return to action with a game versus Brown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20 at Glay Field in Providence, R.I.
