Cancelled Event: Softball versus Tarleton State

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence softball team finished its three game season series against the Seton Hall pirates on Saturday, April 7. The Friars were edged 3-2 in the final game of the series.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
- The game remained tied through the first four innings of the contest. Seton Hall struck first by scoring
two runs in the bottom of the fifth.
- The Friars immediately responded in the top of the sixth with Mackensie Compton (Langhorne, Pa.) hitting a two-run homerun to tie the game.
- The score would remain tied until the bottom of the seventh when Seton Hall hit a single to walk off with the win.
- Megan McCune (Orange, Calif.) got the start for Providence, pitching 5.0 innings and only allowing two earned runs.
- Christina Ramirez (Niceville, Fla.) pitched 1.2 innings of relief for the Friars. She only allowed one hit and one run but was credited with the loss. She moves to 4-8 on the season.
- Compton, Brittney Veler (Santa Rosa, Calif.), and Julianne Rura (Warrenville, Ill.) each tallied two hits in the loss.
ON DECK:
The Friars travel to North Smithfield on Wednesday, April 11 to play a doubleheader against Bryant University.
