Friars host the Bulldogs on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7:00 p.m. in Alumni Hall.

FRIARS CONCLUDE FIVE-GAME HOME STAND ON FRIDAY... Providence will finish off a five-game home stand on Friday, Nov. 21 when it hosts Yale in a non-conference match-up at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

THREE-STRAIGHT WINS... Providence has won three-straight games heading into Friday's match-up against Yale. Providence defeated Central Connecticut (65-40) on Nov. 10, Boston College (70-61) on Nov. 15 and Northeastern (50-45) on Nov. 18. 

LAST TIME PROVIDENCE WON FOUR-STRAIGHT GAMES... Should the Friars secure a victory on Friday against Yale, it would mark the first four-game win streak for the Friars since the 2019-20 season. Providence won five-consecutive games that season from Nov. 9 to Nov. 24. 

SCOUTING YALE... Yale is winless on the young season and enters Friday's game with an 0-4 record. The Bulldogs are being outscored by an average margin of 17.3 points per game. Ciniya Moore leads a trio of Bulldogs averaging double figures in the scoring column, with 16.3 points per game. Kiley Capstraw (14.0 ppg) and Luisa Vydrova (11.0 ppg) rank second and third in scoring, respectively. Capstraw is the team leader in assists (3.5 apg) and steals (2.3 spg), while Vydrova leads the team in rebounding (6.5 rpg). The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-23 season in 2024-25, which included a 3-11 mark in the Ivy League. 

PROVIDENCE VS. YALE ALL-TIME... The Friars and Bulldogs have played 16 times during the history of the two women's basketball programs. Providence leads the series, 13-3. Providence won the most recent meeting (63-58), which was played on Dec. 9, 2023 in New Haven, Conn. The Bulldogs won the previous two games, both of which were decided by six points or less, including a 63-57 loss in overtime the last time they played in Providence (Nov. 9, 2021).

DEFENSE... The Friars are leading the BIG EAST in scoring defense (53.50 ppg and field-goal percentage defense (.329) through four games. Only Boston College has eclipsed the 60-point plateau against Providence. The Friars have held two opponents to 45-points or less.

SABOU GUEYE GETS THE FRIARS OVER FINISH LINE VS. NORTHEASTERN... Sabou Gueye scored a season-high 21 points, including 11 of the Friars' 15 in the fourth quarter to defeat Northeastern, 50-45. It marked the third 20+ point effort of her career and was one point shy of matching her career high (22 points vs. Thomas (GA), 12/29/24). Gueye shot 10-16 from the field and added six rebounds, three steals and one blocked shot.

TENEISIA BROWN OWNS THE GLASS... The Friars have out-rebounded each of its four opponents this season and Teneisia Brown leads the way with a team-best 9.0 rebounds per game. Brown currently ranks second in the BIG EAST in rebounding behind Marquette's Halle Vice (9.25 rpg).

PAYTON DUNBAR'S CAREER-HIGH 22 POINTS HELPS LIFT FRIARS OVER BOSTON COLLEGE... Sophomore Payton Dunbar recorded her second double-digit game of the season (and career) on Nov. 15 against Boston College with a career-high 22 points. Dunbar shot 8-14 from the field, including a 5-10 performance beyond the arc. Entering the game, Dunbar was 0-9 from three-point territory. 

SABOU GUEYE RECORDS FIRST DOUBLE-DOUBLE AS A FRIAR... Grad transfer Sabou Gueye picked up her first double-double as a Friar on Nov. 15 as she recorded 16 points and 12 boards vs. Boston College. It marked the third double-double of her career [recorded two at Florida A&M].

DOUBLE DIGITS... Sabou Gueye is the lone Friar to reach double digits in the scoring column in all four games this season. She leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.3 points per game. Three other players on the roster have reached double figures, including Teneisia Brown, Payton Dunbar and Audrey Shields. Brown and Dunbar have scored in double figures, twice, and Shields eclipsed double digits once. 

GUEYE NAMED TO BIG EAST WEEKLY HONOR ROLL... Sabou Gueye was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Nov. 17. It marked the first conference honors of the season for Gueye, who joined Providence as a graduate transfer ahead of the 2025-26 season. Gueye, a guard, averaged 16.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 blocked shots and 1.0 steal per game as the Friars claimed two victories last week vs. Central Connecticut (65-40) and Boston College (70-61). In those games, she combined to shoot 48.3-percent from the field (14-29). Against the Blue Devils, she posted 16 points, eight rebounds, one assist, one blocked shot and one steal. Gueye closed the week with her first double-double as a Friar [third of her career] on 16 points, 12 boards, three assists and three blocked shots.

BIG DAY ON THE BOARDS VS. CCSU... The Friars recorded 55 rebounds against Central Connecticut on Nov. 10. It marks the most rebounds in a game for Providence since Nov. 9, 2013. On that day, the team hauled in a program-record 65 boards against UMass Lowell. Against CCSU, Teneisia Brown recorded a game-high 14 rebounds. A trio of Friars, including Sabou Gueye, Orlagh Gormley and Ashley Dinges, each recorded eight rebounds. 

FIRST DOUBLE-DOUBLE AS A FRIAR... Graduate transfer Teneisia Brown recorded her first double-double as a Friar, and 32nd of her career, on Nov. 10 vs. Central Connecticut. She finished the game with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Through four games, Brown is averaging 8.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game. Her 9.0 rebounds leads the team and ranks second in the BIG EAST.

TENEISIA BROWN ECLIPSES 1,200 CAREER POINTS... Grad transfer Teneisia Brown has eclipsed 1,200 points for her career. Brown arrived at Providence for her final season after stops at Merrimack (2020-22) and Fairleigh Dickinson (2023-25). She averaged double figures in the scoring column during each of her last three seasons of college basketball and currently ranks third on the team in scoring for the Friars through four games (8.8 ppg). Brown has a career scoring total of 1,221 points heading into Friday's game against Yale.

ORLAGH GORMLEY STARTS STRONG AFTER INJURY-SHORTENED ROOKIE SEASON... Sophomore Orlagh Gormley enters Friday's game against Yale averaging 6.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals and a team-high 3.8 assists per game. She has looked strong in her return to the court after missing the final 22 games of her rookie season with an injury. Gormley has dished 5+ assists in two of the Friars' four games and also picked up a career-high five steals in the win over Boston College (Nov. 15).

PAYTON DUNBAR MAKING IMMEDIATE IMPACT IN FIRST SEASON... Sophomore transfer Payton Dunbar is making an immediate impact during her first season with the Friars. She ranks second in scoring (12.0 ppg) and assists (2.3 apg), while also contributing 2.5 rebounds per game. She has reached double figures in the scoring column in two games this season, including a career-high 22 points vs. Boston College (Nov. 15).

PROVIDENCE DROPS SEASON OPENER TO HOWARD... The Friars were defeated by Howard, 68-56, in their season opener on Nov. 4 at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. The Bison used a 9-2 run in the final 3:15 of the third quarter, including a three at the buzzer, to claim a 50-39 lead heading into the fourth. Howard extended its lead to as many as 18 with 2:20 left to put the game out of reach. Providence managed to get within 64-54 with an 8-0 run, but the deficit proved too large to overcome. Sabou Gueye led the Friars with 16 points and four steals. Payton Dunbar tallied 12 points, four assists and two rebounds. Howard out-scored Providence 26-12 in points off turnovers. The Friars committed 20 miscues in the game, compared to Howard's 12 turnovers.

NEW LOOK FRIARS TAKE THE COURT IN 2025-26... The Friars have reloaded their roster for the 2025-26 season after losing 10 players to graduation (seven seniors and three graduate students). Junior Sophi Hall and sophomores Orlagh Gormley and Audrey Shields are the only returning players on the roster that have seen game action in a Friar uniform. The remainder of this year's roster is made up of five transfer student-athletes, five true freshmen and one red-shirt freshman.

FRIARS DEFEAT FRANKLIN PIERCE IN EXHIBITION GAME... The Friars hosted NCAA Division II Franklin Pierce in an exhibition game on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. The Friars claimed a decisive 71-38 victory, clamping down defensively in the second half to allow just 10 points over the final 20 minutes of play. Sabou Gueye and Payton Dunbar each scored 12 points to pace the offense. Teneisia Brown recorded seven points, four rebounds and a team-best five assists. Ashley Dinges tallied nine points and a team-best six rebounds and two blocked shots. Providence forced Franklin Pierce into committing 30 turnovers and held a 29-19 scoring advantage in points off turnovers in the game. The Friars also dominated the glass with a 40-26 edge in rebounding.

HOME-SWEET-HOME... The Friars will play eight of their 11 non-conference games in the friendly confines of Alumni Hall / Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I., including a five-game home-stand to start the season. Providence is currently 3-1 at home in Alumni Hall.

BROADCAST AND TV ASSIGNMENTS... As part of the BIG EAST's television and broadcast deal, the Friars will be featured on a host of network platforms encompassing television and streaming during the 2025-26 season, including FS1, TNT, truTV, Peacock and ESPN+. Additionally, Providence's games at the Emerald Coast Classic will be available on FloCollege and its non-conference match-up at South Carolina will be broadcast on the SEC Network. Each of the Friars' home non-conference games will be broadcast live on ESPN+, in addition to 15 of the program's 20 BIG EAST Conference regular-season games. ERIN BATTH RADIO SHOW TO MAKE SEASON DEBUT ON NOV. 20... The first episode of the Erin Batth Radio Show will air on Thursday, Nov. 20 from 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. The show, now in its third season, was developed via an existing partnership between Providence College Athletics, LEARFIELD'S Providence Friars Sports Properties and Cumulus Media Production. EMERALD COAST CLASSIC... Providence will participate in the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Fla. prior to the Thanksgiving Holiday on November 24-25. The Friars will face Middle Tennessee State in the first game of the tournament on Nov. 24. Providence will conclude the tournament on Nov. 25 against Mississippi State or Alcorn State. Under the direction of third-year Head Coach Erin Batth, the Friars have participated in the West Palm Beach Classic (2022-23) and the Cancun Challenge (2024-25).

BIG EAST PRESEASON POLL... The Friars were picked to finish 10th in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll, released at the league's annual media day on Oct. 21 at Madison Square Garden. Last season, Providence completed the year with a 13-19 overall record and claimed a seventh-place finish in the regular-season standings with a 6-12 conference record. 

ERIN BATTH ERA... Erin Batth enters her third season with the Friars in 2025-26. She was hired as the 11th women's basketball coach in program history at Providence College on March 20, 2023. Batth arrived in Friartown with 17 years of NCAA Division I coaching experience, with her most recent stops coming at NC State (2018-22) and Michigan (2022-23). She has been part of five conference championships, eight NCAA Elite Eight appearances and three trips to the NCAA Sweet 16. She also served as an assistant coach at Liberty (2017-18), Georgia State (2014-17), Tennessee Tech (2012-14) and Towson (2010-12). Batth earned her first career win as a head coach on Nov. 7 vs. Hampton (76-46). She helped the Friars earn a bid to the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) in her first year at Providence in 2023-24.

WHAT'S NEXT... The Friars will hit the road for the first time this season to compete in the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Fla. The Friars will play two games in the tournament beginning on Monday, Nov. 24 against Middle Tennessee State University. Tip-off is slated for 12:00 p.m. (ET). Providence will close out the tournament with a game against Mississippi State or Alcorn State on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
