PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College softball team fell to Brown University, 2-1, on Wednesday (April 30) on Glay Field in Providence, R.I. The Friars dropped to 22-26 overall this season, while the Bears improved to 29-13.
GAME NOTES
- The Friars opened the scoring on an RBI groundout by Emma Douma (Midland Park, N.J.) in the bottom of the first inning.
- The Bears tied the game in the top of the second inning on an RBI single then took the lead in the top of the third on a solo home run by Jasmine Hsiao.
- Neither team scored over the final 4.5 innings as the Bears held on for the one-run victory.
- Gabriella Lee (Belmont, Calif.), Elisa Smith (Glen Allen, Va.) and Kaelyn Loncharich (Yucaipa, Calif.) all recorded hits for the Friars on Wednesday.
- Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.) pitched 6.1 innings and surrendered two earned runs on six hits and one strikeout. Jessica Walter (Middletown, Del.) appeared for 0.2 innings with one strikeout.
ON DECK
The Friars will close out the 2025 regular season on the road at Villanova for a three-game series from May 2-4.
