Rhett Chambers And Matt Lazzaro Named To The BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll For Men’s Lacrosse

Chambers and Lazzaro each recorded 11 points in two games last week.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College men's lacrosse players Rhett Chambers (Larchmont, N.Y.) and Matt Lazzaro (Franklin, Mass.) were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, March 23.
Chambers tallied 11 points on five goals and six assists in two games for the Friars last week. The junior scored one goal in Providence's 12-3 win over Quinnipiac (March 18). Chambers tied a career-high with 10 points on four goals and six assists in the Friars 18-17 overtime loss to Air Force (March 21). He currently leads Providence's offense with 45 points on 20 goals and a team-best 25 assists. Chambers also ranks second in the BIG EAST in assists per game (2.50) and third in points per game (4.50).
Lazzaro recorded 11 points on five goals and six assists in two games for Providence last week. The junior tallied five points on three goals and two assists in the Friars 12-3 win over Quinnipiac (March 18). Lazzaro recorded a career-high six points on two goals and a career-best four assists in Providence's 18-17 overtime loss to Air Force (March 21). Lazzaro ranks second for the Friars in scoring with 33 points on 18 goals and 15 assists.
WHAT'S NEXT… The Friars will open BIG EAST play on Saturday, March 28, against Marquette. Opening face-off is set for 12:30 p.m. (ET) at Valley Fields in Milwaukee, Wis., and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
