PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College men's lacrosse players
Jack Cooper (East Hampton, N.Y.) and
Rhett Chambers (Larchmont, N.Y.) were named to the NEILA DI/DII Team of the Week on April 21. The Friars defeated Denver, 8-7, in overtime on Saturday, April 18, in Providence, R.I. Providence clinched a spot in the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championship with one regular-season game remaining on the schedule.
Cooper won 12-of-18 faceoffs for a .667 win percentage in the Friars' overtime win versus Denver. He also matched his career-high with five ground balls. The sophomore currently ranks second on the team with a .478 faceoff win percentage (55-155).
Chambers recorded a game-high five points on two goals and three assists. The junior currently leads the Friars' offense in points (58), goals (29) and assists (29). Chambers was previously named to the NEILA's team of the week on March 23.
WHAT'S NEXT... The Friars will travel to Queens, N.Y. to face BIG EAST foe St. John's on Friday, April 24. Opening faceoff is set for 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
