PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced today (May 7) that Providence College junior midfielder
Rhett Chambers (Larchmont, N.Y.) was named a 2026 USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention. Chambers become the eighth player in program history to earn All-America honors. He is also just the third Friar to be named a USA Lacrosse All-American.
Chambers started all 17 games this season for the Friars and led the team with 71 points on 35 goals and 36 assists. The junior midfielder set the Providence College all-time single-season points record (71). The previous record of 66 was set by
Ryan Bell '25 in back-to-back seasons (2024 and 2025). Chambers ranks 24th all-time in career scoring at Providence College with 111 points (60 goals / 51 assists). Additionally, his 51 assists are tied for 14th all-time in program history. Chambers scored five-or-more points seven times this season, including a nine-point outing versus Bryant (4/14) and 10-point outings against Merrimack (3/2) and Air Force (3/21). He concluded the season ranked second in the BIG EAST in assists per game (2.12), third in points per game (4.18) and inside the top 20 nationally in NCAA Division I in both categories. Chambers led Providence to a No. 2-seed in the BIG EAST Tournament, marking Providence's highest conference tournament seed since the BIG EAST began sponsoring lacrosse in 2010. He also led Providence to its second appearance in the BIG EAST Championship game, scoring six points on two goals and four assists in the tournament. The midfielder was a unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST First Team and was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team. Chambers was previously honored as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week (2/9), BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on four occasions (3/9, 3/23, 4/13, 4/27), USA Lacrosse Player of the Week (2/10), Inside Lacrosse AXIA Time Player of the Week (2/10), USILA Team of the Week on (4/28) and Preseason All-BIG EAST over the course of the season.
Chambers is the eighth Friar all-time to earn All-America accolades. He also joins Michael Chabra '24 and
Ryan Bell '25 as the third Friar named USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention. Former Friars Michael Farley '07 and Ben Johnston '08 were USILA Division I All-America Honorable Mention selections in 2006 and 2008, respectively. Jarrod Neumann '17 was a USILA Second-Team All-America selection in 2017. Additionally, Neumann, Boyce and Toby Burgdorf '21 received Inside Lacrosse Maverick Media All-America recognition. Boyce and Burgdorf were Honorable Mention selections in 2017 and 2020, respectively, while Neumann was named to the Third-Team in 2017. Most recently,
Ryan Bell '25 earned USILA All-American Honorable Mention and USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention in 2024 and 2025, and Inside lacrosse Media All-American Honorable Mention honors in 2025.
