MEN'S LACROSSE GAME PREVIEWProvidence College vs. HartfordTuesday, March 22, 2005 • 3:30 p.m.Glay Field • Providence, R.I.

PROVIDENCE COLLEGE FRIARS (1-4, 0-1 MAAC): The Providence College men's lacrosse team is scheduled to host Hartford in non-conference action on Tuesday, March 22 at 3:30 p.m. The game will be played at Glay Field in Providence, R.I. The Friars are coming off of a 10-6 loss to Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, March 19 in the 2005 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) season opener. PC enters Tuesday's game against Hartford with a 1-4 overall record. Senior Dan Giuntini (Floral Park, N.Y.) leads the Friar offense through five games with 11 points on 10 goals and one assist. He has scored at least one goal in each of PC's game, and totaled a season-best four points against Vermont on March 13 with three goals and one assist. Giuntini is three points shy of becoming the 18th player in Providence College history to reach the 100-point mark in his career. He currently has 74 goals and 23 assists for 97 career points. Senior Jonathan Hollister (Longmeadow, Mass.) is second on the team in scoring, with six points on four goals and two assists. Sophomore Brendan Ryan (Chatham, N.J.) leads the Friars in assists (four) and is third among his teammates in scoring (five points). Senior Andrew McMinn (Pittsburgh, Pa.) has been the Friars' primary goaltender, thus far. In 223 minutes of action between the pipes, he has registered a 0.597 save percentage and a 8.34 goals against average. McMinn has allowed 31 goals and has made 46 saves. Senior Mark Rotella (Smithtown, N.Y.) has won 27-of-57 face off opportunities for Providence (0.474 win percentage).

Tuesday's meeting against Hartford will mark the 25th all-time between the two schools in men's lacrosse. The Friars lead the all-time series, 14-10. Under the direction of seventh-year Head Coach Chris Burdick, the Friars are 3-3 against Hartford. Last season, Providence defeated the Hawks, 7-4.

HARTFORD HAWKS (0-3): Hartford enters Tuesday's non-conference match-up against Providence with an 0-3 record. Freshman Ryan Curran leads the Hawks on offense with seven points on four goals and three assists. Fellow freshman Brian Tilley and junior Matt Holman are tied for second on the team in scoring with six points apiece. Tilley leads the Hawks with five assists and has one goal, while Holman is tied for first in goals (four) and has two assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Franklin Pargh has played every minute of Hartford's three games and has a 12.33 goals against average and a 0.538 save percentage. He has allowed 37 goals and has made 43 saves.
