PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Friars finished the 2009 season with a 6-10 overall record and a fourth place finish in the MAAC with a 5-3 record. The 2009 season marked PC's final year in the MAAC before the Friars move into the BIG EAST Conference in 2010.

• PC qualified for the MAAC Tournament for an unprecedented ninth-consecutive season. The No. 4-seeded Friars fell to No. 1-seeded Siena by the score of 7-1 in the tournament semifinals on Friday, May 1 in Buffalo, N.Y.

• Senior attackman Bobby Labadini (Westford, Mass.) and junior defenseman Ryan Riedl (Winchester, Mass.) earned First-Team All-MAAC honors. The award marked Riedl's second MAAC award, as the junior was named to the second team in 2008. Graduate student midfielder Colin Reposa (East Falmouth, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Evan Helda (Charlotte, N.C.) were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team for their performances in the classroom.

• The Friars began MAAC play with a 4-0 record. It marked the second-straight season and only the third time since the Friars began MAAC play in 1996 that the team began league play 4-0.

• After opening the season with an 0-4 record, the Friars reeled off five-consecutive victories from March 14 to April 4. During the stretch, PC picked up its first non-conference victory since 2006, rallying from a 5-1 deficit to defeat Quinnipiac, 7-6, on March 18 in Providence.

• On April 4, Providence defeated Saint Joseph's, 5-4, in four overtimes. The game was the third-longest in NCAA Division I lacrosse this season and propelled the Friars to a 4-0 start in MAAC play. Senior goaltender Robert Bryan (Apex, N.C.) made 12 stops in the game while allowing only four goals in 73:59 minutes of action. He did not allow a goal in the game's four overtimes.

• Senior Bobby Labadini (Westford, Mass.) had a stellar senior campaign for the Friars, recording a team-high 39 points on 25 goals and 14 assists. Labadini posted two or more points in nine-of-15 contests. On March 21 at Wagner, Labadini registered a career-high eight points on a personal-best six goals and two assists, marking the most points scored by a Friar in a game since 2002. He was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week on March 9 and March 23. Labadini finishes his career tied with Brian Kirkwood `92 and Kevin McCarthy `88 for 21st all-time at Providence in career points scorerd.

• Junior defenseman Ryan Riedl (Winchester, Mass.) anchored a defense that ranked first during MAAC regular season play with a 5.47 goals against average. Riedl's 27 caused turnovers during the regular season ranked 17th nationally and his 46 ground balls placed him first on the Friars in that category. He was selected to the MAAC All-Tournament team for his performance against Siena on May 1.

• Senior goaltender Robert Bryan (Apex, N.C.) helped lead the Friars to a 5-3 record in the MAAC this season. Bryan made 79 saves while allowing only 39 goals for a 4.99 goals against average and a .669 save percentage in league games. His goals against average and save percentage were both tops amongst MAAC goalies in league games this season. Bryan earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on March 30 and April 6.

• Junior Colin Tigh (Garden City, N.Y.) ranked second on the Friars in scoring this season with 32 points on 23 goals and nine assists and first on the team with 44 ground balls. The 5-7 attackman posted at least three points in seven games and led PC in scoring in each of the team's final three contests. This season, he tied his career-high with four goals against VMI on March 14 and notched a personal-best three assists against No. 6/8 North Carolina on March 11. His nine ground balls versus No. 16/14 Brown on April 18 marked a career high and was the most ground balls picked up by a Friar in a game since Tom Wenskus grabbed 10 on April 5, 2008.
